Very sad news
- 14 March 2011 08:0996826Very sorry indeed to hear this sad news about Colin. He was as has been said a lovely chap, a very pleasant chap indeed. His contributions here on Doverforum added so much to all our enjoyment and he himself enjoyed doing it enormously.I have had many emails from him telling me so. He wasnt one of our longest serving members but he became a tip top member in no time at all, he just loved contributing. And we all loved his contributions and his pictures.
At David Hannent's summer soiree last year he was very shy about having his picture taken....this is the best one we have, as you can see the girls Jeanette H and Jan T are trying to encourage him to pose. Thats him in the royal blue shirt looking tanned and fit..

Hello.
Colin passed peacfully away earlier today at 13.23hrs 13th March 2011.
He used to speak of his friends on the Dover Forum and it warm's my heart to read the comment's posted.
Please pass on my thank's to all of your member's for their concern and good wishes. Colin will be missed by all of us. As my brother I loved him dearly.

- 14 March 2011 09:4996840Very sad news, I only met Colin first on a couple of times last year but had lots of interesting conversations by email and was looking forward to meeting again when he was well. A real gent and a great loss to the community.

"I went to see Colin last Thursday at his home in Whitfield and it was immediately obvious that he was gravely ill, and he knew it himself. He asked me 'because I'm good with words' to express on his behalf his great thanks to all his friends on Dover Forum, especially Howard and Bern who obviously meant a great deal to him. He was clearly saying goodbye. Right now I don't feel pretty good with words, I'm devastated that Colin has gone and would echo all the sentiments expressed on here by all the others; to his wife Ann, and to all his family, I cannot express in words the sorrow that the passing of one of the loveliest men I've ever had the privilege to meet has caused.
