Dont believe he is i heard he was stood down or as they say moved sideways, he is a security man for DHB. I was told the Police was being run very badly so they bought back ex deputy chief who had retired to take over and sort the mess out.

Another update from the Port of Dover:
Eight individuals were arrested at the time and subsequently bailed to a date in July whilst the circumstances are investigated by the Port of Dover Police. This has involved obtaining statements from witnesses outside of Kent and forensic examinations. When the investigation has concluded, a prosecution file will be submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service for a charging decision.

sorry martin i have to disagree here, closed circuit cameras covered it all, there were many traumatised passengers and bar staff that night and the fact that so many police vehicles were in attendance when the ferry berthed spoke volumes.

Howard. I have been following this thread, also interested in the conclusion. I have to say I think you have been extremely presumptuous throughout the whole of it. Think logically. If the CCTV had picked up everything then why would it take all these months for CPS to decide on charging? I think the Police should be applauded for what must have been a complex investigation with all those involved probably spread across the country. Praise where praise is due Howard. How would those people you speak of feel if the investigation had been rushed and was thrown out of Court or worse still no charges were made?

Some interesting comments following after that Mercury report, how anyone can defend those thugs beats comprehension.

Well done to those who stuck with this and saw it through. Especially the witnesses and victims who have had to relive the ordeal. Despite what you say Howard this is a success for those poor people. Criminals have avoided jail for worse.
