getting word through about a serious incident last night when a group of youths assaulted a family after the father asked them to tone down the noise a bit.
12 police cars met the ferry on arrival to greet them and one of the yobs needed 7 police officers to effectively arrest him.
maybe someone has more details, i am told that they live in dover district, not officially confirmed though.

Luckily we freight drivers on the spirit of France have our own lounge and restaurant, access to which is controlled by a bar code on the freight ticket. We don't mix with the other ranks at all.

had it confirmed that it was a gang of youths from aylsham yet there is nothing on any of the local news websites. this was clearly a very serious incident as detailed in post 1, are we to assume they were simply cautioned and let go?

10 arrests, 12 police vehicles deployed and i have just been told that they have been let off with a caution, if they do it again the authorities will come down hard and give each of them a chinese burn.
not to worry though priorities are paramount, paris brown has been interviewed by police over her twitter comments.

I agree it does make a mockery of our legal system, the balance is all wrong.
Letting these kids off with a caution and then the Police - guilty of their own time-wasting on investigating twitter comments by a 14 year old is stupid.

Just a small point Roger, I do agree these kids should have been dealt with far more severely
but the youngster put up by Ann Barnes and hr twitter comments, Barnes should never have put this girl through that
and it showed her checks were not up to what they should have been

Fair comment Keith - but someone seriously didn't want her to have the job - and she was only 14.

Unfortunatly roger you are up for scrutiny in such a position, and sadly as iv told you before both the local and national media take no prisoners.
Whilst we may find that a good thing, it also shows people won't put forward in the future not just in that position but many others.
