My biggest pumpkin, the one earmarked for the competition, developed a hollow space inside and this morning has got lovely grey mould on its outside!
So the 'third' pumpkin from the same plant will have to be the one I take on Saturday to the weigh-in, it will make an entry but no where near a prizewinning size!
Have got some M & S tokens for the three heaviest at the weigh-in !

Winner as (third time winner) Geoff Jarvest (weight 112 lbs), who just pipped Reg Hansell at the post.
Congratulations to Reg whose pumpkin weighed 101.6 lbs !! And Wendy Hansell's weighed 53-lbs. Very well done.
There were about 12 pumpkins brought to the weigh-in, many fine specimens!
Here is a photo of Jackie and Les bending down to read the weight of Reg's pumpkin on the flat scales!

Nearly made it Reg better luck next year.
For those interested there was what looked like a very nice pumpkin soup recipe on BBC1 Saturday Kitchen this morning.

Congratulations to all, mine is only about 50lbs, but it will make lots of soup for the menu and then get carved to go in the window, will post a picture in due course.
