Wow! That's doing well ! My biggest pumpkin got eaten, so another one coming along but very small yet !!
You could prune the ends of each vine to stop more spread, if you wish. I have 'stopped' the ends of mine today. They need a lot of water at present.

Only back in Kent one day a week so I am having to neglect it a bit, however today it's 18kg and 44 inches round the middle.

Mine is growing apace but nowhere near that size Peter. A friend in Tilmanstone has only just grown a 'female' flower so is starting with a small pumpkin this week !!
Still there are a few weeks to go yet....

Mine is growing but will have to speed up to compete !!
And the plant is 'spreading everywhere' (sounds like a butter advert)

I tried to weigh mine on Thursday but I was unable to lift it onto the scales without causing damage. I shall try again this week.

Unfortunately I shall be working in Farnham on the day of the weigh-in so I can't enter the Beast in the competition. I have cut it off the vine today and taken it to Farnham where it will take part in Hallowe'en celebrations and provide 60+ portions of pumpkin soup. For the record it now weighs 25.5 kg and has a 50 inch waist.

25kg is nothing, I saw in the paper the other day someone has grown a 1,000-pounder in Hampshire.

# 70...photo may have caused two competitors not to attend the weigh-in ?
Our other Pumpkins may need us to open a soup kitchen..........
