Looks like my daughter's partner will spend the night at his base in Dover in the works van instead of Rye where he was supposed to be working.

Martin - my son caught the 6pm bus frpm Canterbury to Dover. He's still on it, just past the Woolage turn off. They've just been told there is a jack knifed lorry and will be at least 2 more hours. Then apparently Dover is cut off so God knows how he'll get home. I'm worried sick.

He got home at 1.20am! Safe, cold, hungry but relieved!

Warning to all those heading west out of Dover, it looks like A20 is closed. Long line of HGVs on Townwall Street. Some flack will be flying for the morning rush hour!

My daughter and niece were very lucky, they were stopped far enough back that a Policeman turned them round and they went back and managed to get home via Sandwich, others in their group who were further forward slept in their car!

I seen two gritters up and down the Folkestone Road, but not spreading any grit.
The roads were pretty bad taking Jean to Buckland this morning and people had parked their cars all over the place.

Even tho' this was taken through a closed window I thought the snow in the woods over Winchilea looked quite nice this morning. Between the times of taking and posting most of the snow had gone from the roofs.

sue posted earlier about a civic dinner she was going to cancelled due to the weather, the good news is that 750 dinners were then re-directed to a homeless charity.

Spare a thought...
"Cheryl Baker, the 1980s pop star with the Eurovision-winning group Bucks Fizz, was among those stuck on the A23 as she tried to make her way to Brighton to her children. At 10.30am she tweeted: "WE'RE HOME!! Only taken 15 1/2 hours!!""

We drove to William Harvey this afternoon via M20 - seeing what was on the other carriageway we came back via Canterbury as the quicker option!
The queue the docks went well past the services at J11.
