Just taken us nearly 3 hours to get from just the other side of Hythe to Dover on my school bus. Was pretty bad down at Lydd and Greatstone but got worse as we got further east. My son has just phoned - he's stuck on a bus on the A2 just this side of the Aylesham turn off. He says nothing is moving, there's no heat on the bus and the driver has the door open!!
What a night - hope everyone gets home safely.
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Major transport disruption now occuring. Have just driven from Martin Mill to Dover. Deal/Dover road passable with extreme caution due to low visibility and snow drifting across the road in places where there are no hedges. Jubilee Way passable down to port, but closed going up. Many lorries and cars stranded trying to go up Jubilee Way. Also now appears the A20 is blocked as there is a queue of HGVs, coaches, etc. westbound on Townwall Street. I guess that means Dover is pretty much cut off.

What's happened to the gritting lorries. This weather was advertised enough and they have failed once again.

Seen plenty of gritters but it is quite dry snow and blizzards so can't imagine the grid can stay on the roads

Developing rapidly into a "what went wrong" scenario - HGVs now appear backed up all along Townwall Street.

Highways / KCC have taken there eye off the weather. The A20 Roudhill Tunnel east bound has been in chaos for the last hour or two.
