22:1676973Ian, if there was an infestation of rats and someone organised a competition who could catch and kill the most, how many people would really care? Where do you draw the line? Simple, you can`t. As I said above, each case can only be argued individually, it`s too big for a single thread on here. My mate was always out shooting rabbits on his farm, I think few people realise just how many of them there are about and what damage they do. Again, you`re either for it or against it, and you`ll never get either side to agree, EVER.

22:3676977Post #40 was most unfair Howie. I resemble that remark.
Colin.....I never do anything for fun. ( only occasionally

)
If it needs it, it gets it.
I'm not Mr nasty and it also helps my eyesight to get worse.

23:2276991I'm with Ian on this, I support and help local farmers when I can to protect their crops which in some cases are being overrun by thousands of rabbits.
When did Howard say he was letting the cat out

11:2677052Unfortunately Mel mother nature does not have a say in how an animal dies.
Have you ever seen a rabbit with Mixamatosis? then believe me it is not a pretty sight and the kindest thing to do is humainly kill it.
If you had rats or mice in your home or garden, how would you get rid of them?

bit of a difference between killing disease carrying pests and carrying out mercy killings
the stag was neither, just happily romancing his lady friends.

17:2877087#43. Hi Ian, sorry mate hope I didn`t give the impression you did it for fun, I know you wouldn`t. Just thought I`d mention it as you know with posting`s on this forum, they can always be viewed in a different way to that intended.

21:0077133As I said Howie ( once again ) I saw no reason for killing this magnificent beast, still in his prime and healthy it's just given some trigger happy prat something to boast about.
Colin my good man there was no offence taken in any way but I must warn you, on your walks out to cross any of BWS land you will have to move very quickly, I have a very good eye at 200-400metres.

23:3277169Back to the Emperor. I read in one of the quality press today that his death was good for the gene pool as he will now be rutting with animals with whom he is far too closely related.
For some reason my thoughts moved to our own royal family.............
