I always wondered about your politics Howard. Now that we know that you consider George Galloway to have balanced views I can place you precisely on the political continuum.

They will huff and puff for a few days and he will continue in his job, that would seem about par for the course.

Where is the doubt that Fox has cocked up.................Mega style ?
The integrity of Secretary of State of Defence is Paramount and must not be vulnerable.
That integrity has been damaged in Mr.Fox`s hands.

Defence Secretary Liam Fox has defended his relationship with Adam Werritty by insisting that without the ability to exert power and influence, most Tories would be entirely friendless.
Fox is under pressure after using his position within the Ministry of Defence to get Mr Werritty to like him, a situation he described as 'perfectly normal'.
He told reporters, "You know, I overheard Adam talking to some people about defence contracts at a party this one time and I was like, 'I could totally introduce you to the Sri Lankan president, if you want'."
"I made him play squash with me a couple of times in return and we've been really close friends ever since. He really likes me, honest."
A Conservative party spokesperson defended Mr Fox, insisting that "the alternative would be for all Tories to rely on their personality traits to make people like them, and frankly that's something we're all keen to avoid."
So far Mr Werritty has refused to comment about the accusations that he provided friendship in return for political influence, but has been unable to provide Mr Fox's birthday or the names of any of his siblings.
However, a business acquaintance of Mr Werritty's said, "He's totally friends with Liam Fox, I've seen the photos and stuff."
"In fact, I'll happily tell you about the dwarf they handcuffed him to on his stag do, but first you'll have to introduce me to someone in the Saudi government. Okay?"

He should resign. No ifs, no buts, he should go. He's damaged goods and can no longer command the respect which the position of Secretary of State deserves.

Being charitable you could say that Dr Fox was misguided but, as Peter says, that is not a good quality for such a role and he really cannot continue. Cameron should act sooner rather than later.

the usual thing now to hang on to the last knockings.
fox is doing himself no favours, he is a big hitter in politics - a dignified resignation now and he will be back in a year or twos time.

``Dignified ? ``.........................He is way passed that possibility.
What ever transpires, his days as a big hitter are over.

This morning we are spoon fed more evidence on the Fox affair.
Rest assured Mr.Cameron will know a lot more than we are told.MI 5 are very interested in the Defence of our country. He would have been briefed.!
At the weekend Cameron grabbed the Headlines with ``Have a report on my desk 10 am Monday morning.
Nothing happened.
Fumbling Flashman ``appears`` inactive on Fox who is a vulnerable liability in an important job.
Credibility is dropping notch by notch daily.

reg;
your right about DC's lack of leadership, once again talking tough, but very little action.
mr fox im sure is a nice enough guy, but he would have been well aware how his so called friend had attempted to mislead people.
don't forget his so called friend used house of commons headed paper to say he was an advisor to mr fox
quite serious as the govt said.
now we are hearing he made all these trips abroad alone giving the impression he was on govt business yet he weasn't paid by the govt, or the conservative party
so how did his so called friend fund these trips?
maybe time for mr fox to step down before hes pushed

Sources in Sri Lanka have admitted that the government there asked Liam Fox's friend Adam Werritty to lobby the UK government for arms supplies and aviation parts.
Werritty was asked by the Cabinet Office investigators about the 18 foreign trips that he and Fox they had taken together and whether they were sponsored by the Sri Lankan govt.
It should be interesting to hear both Foxs and Werritys response to these allegations.

The Sri Lankans said they paid for Werritys trips to their country as for the other trips it's unclear who paid. 18 trips together does raise a lot of unanswered questions just what the hell was Werritys role...maybe he is Foxs toyboy?

Whilst i'm sure mr fox is a nice geezer, i'm certain he woul have been fully aware of his so called friend and these trips.
it appears now a cover up is taking place, it wont do mr fox or the cobbled together govt any good

the sri lankans would not have shelled out for werritys trip unless they expected to benefit from his visit.
he must have a lot of influence in whitehall.
