Also, just to let you know that Waste Services at DDC do not look in on Dover Forum every day. Not sure they have the time to do that anyway; perhaps only if I have pointed something out to them.

Well done Roger on dealing with Howard's and Terry's comments on here.
What a shame others in your sort of position do not seem as active.

Ithink Jan you will fiind most councillors are active.I was in the office yesterday and dealt with problems re rubbish, inconsiderate parking in River, and my forthcoming diary.Arrived home discovered that a wrought iron lamp outside of our church had been taken down.Spoke to stage coach re diversion routes whilst gas mains are replaced plus trying to get roads salted.Plus emails etc Most councillors work hard in their wards .Roger happens to represent a Dover ward .
The Buckland Councillors work very hard
Are you aware how hard the Aylesham Councillors worl?? .

Roger seems to be one of our better councillors. Both of mine completely ignored me when I emailed them about the bins, not even an acknowledgement. So they won't be getting my vote when the next elections come round.

too right colin, all councillors will be inundated with complaints about the bins - doesn't excuse not replying even if they cannot do anything about the matter.

I apologise to SOME councillors which is a word I omitted from my post. SOME I repeat SOME others give the impression they do not really care about their town once elected.
Why should I be aware how hard the Aylesham Councillors work??? I live in the middle of Dover and my Councillor is a forum member.

Although we are "District" Councillors, many/some do help with problems outside their ward. If it involves Dover Town I am very happy to help on various problems and will write and argue on behalf of that area.
I'm sure if I am treading on anyone else's toes, they'll let me know.

Jan if that is a dig at me as one of your ward Cllrs then I am sorry I pass on all complaints I get,but this is a bad week as I am working 62 hours this week on nights, and have meetings on Tue Wed and Thurs and I am struggling with a bad back.I spent little time on the forum at present as I dont have time.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

No John I was not having a dig at you, sorry if you thought I was. I was just informing Sue that I really have no interest in what Aylesham councillors do or do not do.

Im glad John has responded. My reply was in response to post 42.There are 45 DDC Councillors all of whom work hard in their own patches .The posting read as if most of us do nothing .

Sue you have not explained why I would have any interest in the Aylesham councillors. I repeat I am sorry I left the word SOME out of my original post, have I got to go on bended knee in order to satisfy you.

we can only comment on our own ward councillors as you say jan, in my ward we have had 3 good councillors since i have lived here the rest i cannot comment on as they seem non existant.
that covers district, town and county over a 10 year period.

Oh no this is the top of our list here in Buckland too, seems i have bashed Roger Waltons ear so many times since this was introduced that i'm sure he goes into hiding when he knows it is me or one of my fellow councillors in the building.
Why they could not have done it section at a time, made sure that was working as it should and then moved on to the next section, was that to logical it may have taken somewhat longer but at least it may have worked better, at the moment it is i'm sorry to say just one big mess.
