i don't think many in england are that bothered about the union alex, personally i would like to see england leave it. the scots seem undecided and i suspect they will vote to remain in when the referendum comes along.
alex salmond seems fairly clueless in thinking scotland could automatically join the euro and seems confused over sterling.

One thing is for sure, the majority of the electorate are not placing their trust in the political parties.
Howard, do you have any figures on how many people in England are not interested in the Union?
Has there been a referendum?
And if the Establishment think they can proclaim a new state called England with the queen and her offspring at the head, they are just mistaken!
I won't accept that either!
I don't have to be forced into accepting this private family as my head and as the head of our Country and of EVERYTHING!
Perhaps these people think they have replaced God Almighty and that through sheer mass media presentation they will be cheered by the crowds as "the head of everyone and everything".
Well they are not!
I'll never give in to them!

doubt if there are any figures available alex, i would reckon if you asked most people what they thought of the union and the monarchy they would be like me and just shrug their shoulders in a show of disinterest.

my reply to alex is.
1,union not worried about it.
2,as for the queen, nah a republic would be better.
so in short terms, stuff the union, sack the queen and let them work for a living.

Alex's
I think if there was a referendum on the union in England it would probably be to reject the welsh Irish & Scottish
Me personally I think we are stronger together, but I have a welsh mother and an English father.
And I have never been attracted to sheep, so my dominant side must be English

Alexander;
When your back in this world maybe we can discuss some of your issues;
1; I'm no royalist but as they are they are leaders but have strong links to both christianity and the church of England.
2; We definatly do not want a president style run country, (barryw and i may agree here)
3; Its good to have a live leader and whether is the queen, prime minister or whatever that should be the way
4;I have said before christianity should not be forced on people

Keith S, what worries me is the idea that we should have the Windsor family forced onto us.
You talk about forcing Christianity on people, when I have never used this word, when in reality the Windsor familoy are being forced onto us, because I have never voted for them!
And if we had a vote on this, preceded by a campaign at national level, I would campaign and bring my views over, and I would vote against a private family being passed off as our head and as the head of our Country and its Institutions.
And I don't know why you keep saying that I am trying to force Christianity onto people.
I stated that Christianity should be taught in British schools as in the Holy Scriptures, and should be the sole official Faith of Britain.
You keep writing that this is trying to "force Christianity on people".
Then you suggest that I should have a private family forced onto me as if they were God Almighty! And that we all should accept this. having it forced onto us.

And are you in denial that the Union Flag is Christian, Keith?

Alexander
but stating ONLY christianity should be taught i schools is FORCING it on schools and why should it be??
The vast majority im sure support the role of the royal family, and until such a vote takes place(if it ever did) this is what we have.
Voting for the queen or other votes of others like UKIP appears to come hard to you.
Certainly there are many faiths out there and we should not force just one on everyone
please re read your own post 38 ONLY christianity should be taught in schools
