While we all know this, Keith, however, Folkestone Road is the worst-hit street in Dover.

So this brings me back to the point of my first comment:
Roger, Folkestone Road is in need of care on the part of the Administration. People are spitting out of habit, they don't speak English, and some have started riding heavy bikes down the pavement at speed, dodging between pedestrians, including pram with child.
Now hopefully Keith has already said his part and this time round my post won't disappear into neverlands before Roger has a chance to read it.

Alex, you seem to think Folkestone Road is unique - you will find it happens everywhere, by all nationalities and all ages....

Paul, I posted my comment for Roger to read, as he represents the ward here in Folkestone Road.
And in his post 1 he specifically mentions Folkestone Road.

Perhaps we could ask for some money to employ spitting wardens rather than have to pay to ship them off to Norfolk to plant the orchards...

In some cultures, spitting in the street is considered common practice. See it every day!
English people commonly do not do this.
