Howard, any suggestion that non-white people may be capable of racism is likely to have the loony left thought police after you.

The various societies of Black this and that came about in answer to a very real problem, and while much water has gone under the bridge since that time and it can easily be presumed that their time is at an end, perhaps with a dash too much of wishful thinking, there is an element of the 'antibiotic' about these things also.
We may need to wait until the full course of medication has been taken, even though we are 'sure' that the infection has abated.
It is to be hoped that these things will die-a-death in time, and may topple over with the slightest push, again at some time in the future, but there is a very real risk in arbitrarily deciding enough is enough.
They already do themselves few favours in pressing-on.

Tom I wish you would talk in simple language so those of us simple mortals knew what you are actually saying.
I think you mean these all black groups should end, if they were clubs they would almost certainly be against anti-discrimination laws.

It is the 'ideal' Jan. That there should be no necessity for such groupings within any professional body.
They have served a purpose, more political than practical, but undoubtedly 'practical' to a great extent. We should keep in mind why such groups came into being in the first place:Because of clear evidence of discrimination.
I do not want these groups, and the women-only short lists for PPCs, to carry on as if they are there to bring about some arithmetically pure reflection of their respective proportions within the population.

Would white-robed lawyers be allowed to exercise their commission in a court?
If all lawyers wear a black garment in court, then they should also respond to the same common Law of England.
As for this society of black vested lawyers, are they paid by a client to have Jews arrested at football matches?
More concerning still, does the Met Police take orders from this society?

It goes to show that thousands of Spurs supporters - many of them Jews - defied the society of black lawyers and chanted Yeed in pubs and at the stadium.
The Met Police didn't dare go and arrest them, except one.
One up for Spurs, one down for the secretive society of black-robed lawyers.

"An ultra-orthodox Jew having "Yiddo" chanted at them does not, at first glance, seem like a strong argument from for the continued use of the term at White Hart Lane.
Especially not when that case is delivered by a Spurs fan to David Baddiel, the man who has done his utmost to remove the perceived offensive term from the football landscape.
But when the argument is put forth in a logical and eloquent letter from another Jewish fan, and one who is a season ticket holder at the Lane, then people have to sit up and take notice..."
