08:2485770Howard - more like he is saying it how it is.
This morning though there has been a thaw and there was even a spot of rain while I walked the dog. lets hope the temperature rises during the day and we get some rain to clear away some of the snow.

10:3985804The 09.30 61 bus has just come round the backroad at Whitfield with no problems. The snow does seem to be thawing out a bit now.

11:3485822thawing everywhere now, last night must have been extremely hazardous, there are cars parked either side of the folkestone road
on double yellows and bus stops.
people must have decided conditions were so unsafe they simply dumped their vehicles and walked home.

21:2785979#62. A bit premature that comment. No more buses came round after that one, why? The notorious bit of road involved is the short steep junction of Guilford Avenue and Nursery Lane, but that`s been cleared all day and gritted by local resident`s as usual. I know a couple of bus driver`s and one in particular tells me that it only needs one driver to complain, and that`s it, no service! There is an alternative up here, and that`s to do the route the opposite way making it all downhill. The bus only has to stop on the opposite side of the road facing the bus stop to pick up passengers, (or customers as the railway calls them). No problem, but obviously there is. Where have driving skills gone? By the way, just got back from Tesco and it`s raining hard, with not too many shoppers about in there. I did expect a few more.

22:0385985My daughter is on until 11.00pm at Morissons but hopes to finish an hour early as the shop is so quiet, she has managed to clean nearly all her ovens which she usually rushes to do after the shop closes.

22:2885994all the shops seem to be suffering with the inclement weather coupled with the precipitations.

22:5686470Whatever the rules, we had a white Christmas up at Whitfield today, with much snow still laying in both the front and rear garden as well as along the pavements. Certainly a whiter Christmas than the ludicrous London weather centre ruling of so many snowflakes falling on it`s roof.

23:2486473Thank goodness it seems to have almost gone here in the town but a few slippery patches still for the unwary pedestrian, seems quite nippy again tonight.

12:2686636Beginning to thaw up here in Hawkinge not sure how it is in temple ewell. Xmas eve the paths were still icy. Now it is good that the roads were clear however when he roads are cleared and gritted why don't he councils send their men out to the pavements A&E must have been really busy his winter. I've seen att least 3 people slip over on the ice and i've assisted one old lady back on her feet and walked her home, fortunately for her she did not break a hip or arm ( all the layers she had on softened her fall).

14:1586644Pavements are still iced up in Whitfield though it was pleasant last night to have windows open all night despite the fact that it was still cold though not as much as it has been I thought, or was it that glass of Saint-Pierre?.
