One wonders how Charlotte has the audacity to complain about a couple of jokes when, in her party on DDC, there is one member suspended who has had the whip withdrawn, under investigation for using 'racist' language (the phrase 'n1gg3r in the woodpile' springs to mind).
Plus there is another who has had no action taken against him by the party in spite of the fact that he accepted a police caution for assault on one of our local traffic wardens leading to him having his council pass taken away as he is not thought to be safe unaccompanied amongst staff.
Just saying.

I've only just started.

Just checked the DDC site and their are no new Independents from the Labour party. I saw part of the incident with the Councillor and the traffic warden but only saw and heard words exchanged.

Correct Howard. They do not want to 'flag it up'. I've known about this for quite some time and I was going to keep quiet about the whole thing but, let's just say circumstances have changed over the past week or so ...................
With relation to the 'incident' you saw, the whole incident was fortunately recorded on body-cam, the recording of which I'm sorely tempted to stick on You Tube!

The trouble is Howard, that the silly bugger who had made the complaint against his fellow councillor was so pleased about how he had been able to get rid of one of the 'old guard' who 'has been in his seat for far too long' that he was wandering round Deal telling people - in confidence(!) - what a clever little boy he had been. I too talk to people in Deal. I also listen ..............

Any chance of the video finding its way on to here Bob?
I think I know who the two councillors are by process of elimination, does the accused represent a Dover town ward?

What do you think this is Howard? Twenty Questions?

Tit for tat politics, how childish it never shows people in a good light justified or not.

Jan, I don't care. It's the rank hypocrisy of the bastards. This all kicked off with a meeting earlier this year when Charlotte, being asked what could be done to raise Labour's profile locally said 'Errrr, how about we have a go at Bob Frost'.
As ye sow, so shall ye reap.

That is the issue when parties locally just blame each other
What;s most concerning for me is that a lot of people have already switched off politics
These outbursts, and the article on Mr Frost and Mr Richards
will only result in even more people not voting

Well its all in the open now Labour Cllr Peter Walker suspended for making what could be seen as racist remarks in a selection meeting
Now both the Labour party and Bob Frosts party have suspended the cllrs whilst an investigation takes place.
But Labour already defending Cllr walker saying its a storm in a tea cup, this is the problem
both cllrs were wrong in the tones used
I can understand Cllr Frost being a little aggrieved if not dealt with in same way.
Just the same as Cllr Richards.
As I say being a Cllr comes with it responsibility and these 3 fell short
anyone wishing to see Cllr Walkers comments can see see them on kent on line

As it is in the public domain and for those who can't be bothered with Keith's silly games .
Cllr walker used the term "nigger in a woodpile" a racist phrase, though the fat controller is trying to cover for him. In no way comparable to a non racist joke about slavery from Bob Frost and certainly not comparable to alleged assualt by cllr Richards.
I think Bob would be more aggrieved if they were dealt with in the same way!

Context is all important, the phrase was in wide use years ago and wasn't a racially insulting term but referred to the odd one out. Not used much nowadays as it is considered offensive to some but if this happened behind closed doors I am more of the view that a personal vendetta is at play as suggested in an earlier post.

It may not have been meant as insulting, but that was down to the users poor understanding of what was considered racist.

What is said behind closed doors or in a private conversation should not be repeated for media consumption but unfortunately for whatever personal reason these things usually become known.
That is why public figures with a modicum of brain should choose their words carefully.
The N word is now considered offensive to many, but I always think of my awful dark brown school knickers that we had to wear, how I envied those at other schools who had navy ones.

The actual phrase was used at a meeting the best part of a year ago. A certain extreme left Deal Labour councillor waited until the selection for next year's DDC was coming up to complain knowing that Peter , a decent man and a moderate, would get suspended and not be able to apply for selection for his DDC seat. This was NOT meant to be repeated for media consumption. I thought otherwise.
