  sounds very similar to the ones brought to folkestone a few years back.
  
  they came by barge from norway then transhipped onto smaller barges a mile or so out from the coast.

  Here we are with the same pictures as Howards above but from the different angle long range. The work group began moving in to take up residence on Monday morning.   Have a few more hopefully interesting pictures on the Sea News page again (see link in post 5). The first groyne has bitten the dust as of yesterday morning sunday. Vic worked on the ones being taken away. New harbour enhancing stone ones coming.The guys doing the work are working odd hours because of the current tide flow.

  I saw stone being unloaded from the cargo ship Helene onto a barge this afternoon over at the cruise terminal so i presume this maybe for the new groynes?

  I would love to down there on that job,I worked on all the copper dams for the births in the Easten end of the port apart from the last one.I do not know if the stone is a good plan on a public area,it will OK if the children cannot get on them.

  tombstoning is a much bigger problem along the coast.

  About 2 am and this was the silent sight above that greeted us on the seafront. No I wasn't sitting up waiting for its arrival but while pacing the floor in sleepless mode, a sudden blaze of light burst forth..I thought at first I was being called by the Almighty from on high and begged for a little while longer ... but then sharp as a tack I realised what was happening so I grabbed the camera as you do, even at that hour of the morning and hoped for the best above.
  
  

  

  Roughly the same sight as above but daylight this time..about midday today and the giant barge is delivering its second load. I have the bigger wider pictures on the Sea News page...so..more there.

  Well well.. you will have heard of St Michael's Mount in Cornwall
  you will even have heard of Mont St Michel in bonne France
