18:5780927True Howard, there do seem to be a large number. All of which seem to wish this young couple well but question the relevance of the monarchy.
My post was actually more of a poke at the readership of the Mail rather than the Royal family and I really can't comment on the young couple as I don't actually know them. Which can pretty much be said for everyone, which is why I find it hilarious that anyone would want such tasteless tat. If this were to be produced for any other couple people would be laughing but when it comes to the Royal family people seem to leave reason and 'common sense' behind. If anything I feel sorry for them as their lives are hijacked.
It reminds me of the nasty spectacle that was Diana's funeral where people felt helium balloons of a queen of hearts were a tasteful tribute. I'm sure most of which were the same people that used to love the pictures in the tabloids that made her so disirable to the paparazzi.

22:2580955I don't dislike in any way the members of the Windsor family as people, or discuss their rights to live with their patrimony a normal life. But I think the idea of being heads of so much will not stick on in the forseeable future.
That which personally had disgusted me - among other facts - is that so many churches in Britain have been demolished, sold off or 'converted', including C/E churches.
Probably more than in 70 years of the Soviet Union.
'Head of the Church' is just out of the qustion! Then there are other factors, such as puting a signature to a treaty that signed away so much British Sovereignty, and a few more factors.

22:5980957Howard, I served my Queen with Pride & Respect, all I was saying is the government are going to use this feel good factor as a distraction, and look at the money its going to bring to the UK will it help the Deficit.

23:2480959I am not a republican or a royalist but if I had to choose I would side with royalty every time. For those complaining about the possible cost of the wedding think how much will be raised from tourism during the wedding week.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

10:3180964And how us poor proles will be distracted from the hammering being handed out to us by our beloved government, some of whom are related to the House of Windsor. Royalty+Government=marketing opportunity. And time to bury bad news.

15:5281302I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but if you take into account the initials of Prince William and his fiance 'Kate' nee Catherine, to be emblazoned on all memorabilia 'WC' comes to mind

22:5781380disagree jimmy i am antiroyalist but the queen has a certain class about her, no glitz or glamour like the heads of state around the world that are covered in bling and sporting capped teeth.
