15:2380271Well I never...you heard it here first. I have anyway, so well done Jan with the story. I suppose its about time as the engagement has rambled on now for 10 years. I remember how big his mothers wedding with Charles was, I lived in London then and the whole place went mad. But the world has changed since then and although we might have believed in fairy tale weddings then I dont think any of us do now. But good luck to them.

15:3380272I suppose the next thing is that the parasites will start breeding. At least the addition of someone with a reasonable level of education will improve the royal gene pool - unlike the dreadful Diana.
Let's hope that they at least go for someone like Country Brides rather than the latest manifestation of the dreadful Emmanuels!

15:4780276the bride to be doesn't seem to have much of a work record, her expertise seems to amount to socialising.
more importantly, stick close to posh barry over the next few months, he normally has some spare tickets to this sort of thing, maybe not for the abbey but certainly the buffet afterwards.

15:5380283I can see the headline now Howard Mc the new buffet slayer.

16:0480288Well done Bob, I was going to suggest a trip for her to Castle street.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

16:2980291Oh! I'm just over the moon. How wonderful that our lovely Queen has seen another about to tie the knot. I couldn't be more pleased for her. I must send a present.

18:3080319Bob how can you say 'dreadful Diana'. So what if she wasn't Einstein, she was compassionate and caring, that in my book goes a long way.
Yes the announcement of a Royal wedding has been a long time coming.

18:4580325Sounds an excellent idea, but come to think of it you will probably put the royal toasting fork manservant out of a job, might need to re-think

19:0980333Ohh you cynical lot..
its a wedding, just like if any of you announced you were getting married or renewing your vows, its a reason for some people to be happy, and I would be happy for you, .
Colin and Bob you make me chuckle, over here at Country Brides HQ in Faversham we have spoken to all of our suppliers today and its all abuzz in wedding designer world, they all got very excited about it all. Some how I dont think she will be short of options, most designers wouldnt put her in something that would crumple and i cant imagine that she would go for a massive dress, and if she did pop into see me in town or Sylvia in Faversham we would treat her just the same as everyone else, she is after all, only human. Although is it wrong that I have a dress in mind for her?!
I on the other hand got very excited and thought what on earth am i going to put in my window?! Sylvia and I spent a good half an hour chin wagging about it and thinking about what we could do. So need to start the window to make sure its something suitably beautiful!!
But I really hope she goes for a british designer. Not an american designer like Vera Wang.

20:2180341As predicted, 2011 was always the favourite year for a royal wedding, competing with both the Jubilee and the Olympics in 2012 would have been just too much.
The potential for a boost to GDP is also handy. Sweden found that Princess Victoria's recent wedding increased GDP by some 5bn Crowns, against a direct cost of 20m Crowns.
Lets hope Royal Family plc gets its act together on licensing or the pound shops will be filled with the most appalling Chinese-made miniature manikins of Kate and Big Will next Easter.
Let's put it like this, if every time such a pair of potential spongers off my taxes said they were about to tie the knot were celebrated there would be fireworks over Buckland 24/7.

21:0380346I am fed up with hearing about it already. I must admit to liking the spectacle of the Royal events though.
