15:4886665I think of his school days when his freinds will know his famous father and may wind him up about how old his father is. Still, all that money, should be happy surely?

19:0186691There are plenty of fathers in this age group around so nothing new there. I just hope the baby does not get teased when he goes to school, also it is much better to have money than not.

19:1486693#2. Keith, thats why I put the suspect smiley in mate and the question mark, money indeed doesn`t buy happiness. A sarcastic comment from me.

20:1686699Amazing. Nine posts and nobody has mentioned the elephant in the room.

20:5286703Peter, a lot of families are now one parent and it is not always the mother who is the lone parent, would you say those raised by a lone dad is a "poor little mite". This little boy will be loved and cared for that is the main thing so as far as I am concerned there is no "elephant in the room".

20:5986704it all sounds a bit selfish of elton and his partner in my view.
the child will grow up never having met his natural parents and will be aware that he was "bred" for monetary purposes.
by the time he is old enough to rationalise things his adoptive parents will be in their dotage.

23:1786714And hopefully sensible enough to understand how loved he is regardless of the origin of his birth. I assume one of his 'parents' is either Elton or David Furnish who if he was a woman at 48 could still have children naturally.
Most parents who choose to have children could be called selfish as they just want a child of their own.

00:0486720Would this thread be running if it was 62 year old Glenn Close that had a surragate baby?

00:2686722Jan is spot on - families come in all kinds of shapes whether we like it or not. Wouldn't it be great if all children had at least two parents, some of each gender, who don't argue, cheat, die or leave. How often does that happen? There are some issues about this but there are "issues" about a lot of things to do with fertility and families. At least this child will have a secure and loving home, has not been snatched from a familiar culture, and was not born in a petri dish. Could be worse.........these two guys have a lot to offer a child, and I don't mean just money.

09:0286740I think it rocks well done to him, there are to many kids unloved and really i guess unwanted apart from the benifits they bring , also age shouldnt be a factor he obvisiously has lots of love to give i wish him and his partner all the best

10:1086747I don't think it matters if a child has 1 mum and dad, 2 dads, 2 mums, 1 mum, 1 dad. As long as it's wanted, loved and cared for - that's the most important thing. If Elton and David are able to give the child a good upbringing and a decent life I don't see too much wrong with that.
