Arthur, if it helps, the person who replied to me admitting they were looking at options was Roger Wragg, head of commercial services, so although I don't know how it works, can the Cllrs ask him?

I'd have guessed the councillors could ask.

'Councillors' is a homophone of 'counsellors'.

You will have to excuse me, as I am new here and despite living in Guston for a little over three years I have herd nothing of this crematorium development until a neighbor told me a few days ago and it has taken that time just to get a little information on it. Dare I ask what can be done to fight this?

Sorry but cannot see what is wrong with a Crematorium it will not be used 24/7 and there will only be cars unlike a lorry park.In fact alot better then a lorry park.

As yet there is no further information available. At the last parish council meeting the Cllrs requested any feasibility studies that had been undertaken and what sites had been considered. The PC are still waiting for this information.
Guston PC will update residents when they have been updated.

I went to all the Parish Councils . and on the whole they worked hard for their community.

Well Vic I have to beg to disagree with you. Guston PC have contributed hugely to the debate and final design of the IBF site. Their representatives have participated in frequent meetings with HMRC who have listened and made concessions. The local community has worked hard and successfully.

Worth noting that a Parish Council is only ever as good as the people who sit on it, good councillors who actually know what they are doing should have some influence however small.

I probably wouldn't go so far as to say Guston PC is the Mouse That Roared, but it seems well-run and worth its money. Locals can correct me if they feel this is wrong - and stand themselves.
Bit surprised they haven't gone in for a cable car though.

Agree Jan .Some parish Councillors are very good .Temple Ewell is very good .Aylesham and Wingham all dedicated to their community.I could go on but I have seen it with my own eyes.

Have been trying (in vain) to get more information about this. Have been VERY reliably informed that discussion is underway- and probably much further forward but our DDC members being very tight lipped about it. If anyone picks up any information it could be helpful. At the very least local residents and Guston/Whitfield PCs ought to be kept in the loop. I fear this will be a done deal before anyone is notified.
I would like to know what sites have been considered other than Pineham/Guston. Don’t want to be fobbed off with the usual “commercially sensitive “ garbage!

As usual poster 49 gets it wrong on where he sat Unelected five councils that he sat on
Whitfield and others have worked hard and had influence .
It's how you use it.
