Free Fun Fact. In the year of my birth (1951), there were only 21,000 Mohammedans in the United Kingdom.

"The minister also refused to give details on the immigration status of the suspects when pressed by several MPs"
.................. but after a quick examination at Manston where we didn't have anyone who could speak Farsi so we had released them to various rented accomodation around the country with a view to maybe interviewing them in a few months once we've got the staff, who admitedly are not experts on Middle East politics, and someone to interpret, with a view to considering their asylum claim (which we have no realistic way of considering the veracity of), so we'll give them Discretionary Leave to Remain because we daren't send anyone back to Teheran in case they were actually telling the truth and the mad mullahs string them up from a crane and the Guardian will never let us hear the last of it. Do you know I had that Jean Charles de Menezes in the back of my cab once?

According to the data, the Home Office spent almost £12,000 on TVs for Manston over the last three years.
The Home Office also spent more than £15,000 on video game consoles, including PlayStations, Nintendos and Xboxes.
According to GB News, when combined with newspaper and magazine subscriptions it means some £60,000 has been spent on entertainment for the centre in the last three years.

Keef,
This thread has been here since 2021 and has been viewed over 100,000 times since my first post relating to a Guardian headline:-
Sajid Javid: Channel migrant crossings 'a major incident'
Home secretary seeks call with French counterpart after 94 detained since Christmas Day
From what some people thought was a minor obsession on my part or some sort of racism this has turned into the main topic in ALL media.
The country is changing before your eyes - in the 25 years before New Labour's election net migration was 68,000; in the 25 years afterwards, it was 5.9 million.
According to YouGov this week 50% of voters think immigration is one of the country's major issues.
Stet.
