Up until now Barry was all in favour of free speech never mind who might get upset, double standards are a

For a man who must be in his 60s Barry, you do act like a kid sometimes. However maybe we should all be extremely careful how we reply to your posts.
JHG I don't know you but continue posting don't let the bully boys get the better of you.

jan;
we are at one on this, as iv said had it been any other poster i would maybe have a little sympathy, but blimey come on even in recent days some of the postings fro our barryw were very offensive.
That said, john im at the end of the phone mate, and im pleased you will not grovel to baz and rightly so.
Everyone on here(except barryw)realised the banter from john, but the over riding concerns of posters of legal action by some must raise concerns.
The whole episode has been sad for john/paulb and the forum
this will probably have an effect on future postings, which is sad for the forum.
JOHN
I hope you reconsider about not posting, you can see the support you have on the forum, A

I am sorry John that you have behaved this way and taken this attitude. You have been very foolish.
We are discussing not a minor matter of offense given but a matter of professional standing and reputation. I have tried to be consiliatory over the matter and you have thrown that back in my face.

Barry for goodness sake let it rest, the man hasn't damaged your reputation or professional standing at all. I saw the deleted post before it was deleted and really didn't think that it was libellous in any way. Your constant bleating and threats since then are more likely to have brought you in to disrepute.

i think some of the comments on this thread though well meant are not helping the situation.
both barry and john are well respected members of the community at large, not just the forum here.
i think it best to let them both reach an amicable agreement without any outside agencies muddying the waters, then we can all continue as normal.

I have apologise in my own words, still not good enough though.Barry I will not be bullied by you,I did as you requested, but this appears to be more than that, obviously there is an election coming up and I guess you dont want me on here so you can put your point of view only,I dont always agree with Keith but I think he has a point that this will become Barry Happy Hunting Ground and ban everyone else who doesnt agree with him.
If that is the case and I know Paul doesnt want that then that is the way it is going. As said and I will repeat I have apologised for what I have said and I did not mean to besmirch your or your business's name.It was a joke I accept you didnt see it that way.I accept that, but it was.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Guys I think its time we try and draw a line under this.
I think its probably best that we shut this thread just so that we can calm down. We always hope that people can get on alright in the club and can sort things out hopefully easily.
Its sad to see people falling out as our aim is for self moderation..dont mind a little bit of argy bargy but no fallouts.

Howard, I doubt this forum will be the same for quite a long time there will be an undercurrent of doubt when posting.
A very sad situation.
