00:2585754What happened to post coming by train mail train would arrived at 5am van from the post office would collect and deviled by 9 am why is this country so scared of work what happened to wellingtons for footwear in this sort of weather we had no post at Aycliffe today and yet the sun was out and there was a throe so it could have come out a little later. time to privatize Royal Mail. but then you would see all the posts office workers asking us to support them saving there jobs.we have long memory's

09:0485775Brian, i think their moans are justified. If the milklady can get through there is no real reason the post should be halted, if they can deliver in Essex why not Dover.

09:0685776If they want to pay me £250 an hour....
I am running a business and the failure of Royal Mail is a serious problem for any business particularly at this time of year.

09:1285777With an hourly rate like that no wonder you can spend so much time on the forum during working hours.

09:1685778I dont charge that to my clients Jan - it represents the fact that I have more important work in my business to do and the stretching of a 9/10 hour day to an even longer one
I dont actually spend that much time on the forum - I look in briefly but frequently while working. It replaces coffee/lunch breaks and chats over the photocopier that would happen in an large office.

09:1885779barry,a couple of points i would like to make.
1,the postperson would be lucky to get that in a week let alone an hour.
2,if you are worried about your postel delivery, try going round to granvile street before 0830 with id and pick up your post there.
bon voyarge.

09:2685785barry you have missed the point again, take off those rose tinted glasses and read properly.

09:3285787No Brian, the point is people have a job and get paid to do it, therefore, should do it!! No-one would expect people to put themselves at risk, but a little risk is Life, and the wage paid buys effort.

10:4585808bern,if you have inportant mail due its easier to collect yourself.rather than wait for delivery.a wage dosent allways garentee a delivery.

10:5885813Brian, if it is too dangerous for a postman

, do you not think it is too dangerous for the mother with pram or toddler, the disabled and the elderly to collect their mail.
