30 November 2010 14:0082422I knew a game keeper who shot the rabbits through the eyes every time, he did the same with the foxes that killed his birds, much kinder than being chased by dogs who do not care if the fox is young or old.
Melissa, foxes are indiscriminate killers that often leave their kill behind. I know this because the would only take the head from my chickens and ducks when they occasionally managed to get in the run.-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I disagree with much of what BarryW says, but I also agree with much that he says. I have more than once reflected hard about something after a conversation on here (and in other places!) and modified my opinion. It is called dialogue, conversation, debate and thinking!! It doesn't drop out of left, right or centre, it comes from thought and talk. I love it!!

Now Uncle Vince Cable, one time everyone's grand oul uncle of politics, announced today that he may abstain from voting in parliament for the new tuition fees. Now..As he is Business Secretary and instrumental in pushing the blasted situation through in the first place, well its the most bizarre thing you ever heard.
This Senior Government Minister wants it, but wont vote for it, because its upsetting the grass root Libdems. See post # 1. jeezez you couldnt make it up.
This is what you get with Coalition Government...complete chaos.
For those of you who are not famiiar with the hokey cokey, here is the gist of it...but you must sing along, all together now...

- 30 November 2010 17:4582457Although the tuition fees amendment that Parliament is considering is unpopular, the question remains: how can we afford the high costs of education as they have evolved with not enough money to do so and with such a massive and increasing debt (over £900 billion)?
If this thread's topic is open to a short excursion in finances, very briefly, then cosider that if the national debt continues to rise (as it does), each new year a new budget will present an increasing percentage of debt repayments including the interest (see Greece). Consequently, the Government must reduce spending to repay the outstanding debt for the new budget. But as this debt gets bigger, each year more spending cuts will have to be made. Or more money will have to be raked in through higher taxation; or both!
To be bailed out means merely contracting new debt to pay off older debt, but this too will have to be repaid, with interest.
So how can this Country go on paying massive sums of money on this, that and the other if the financial return does not correspond and an out-standing debit is looming and getting bigger all the time? Isn't it a little harsh to conveniently put all the blame on the Lib/Dems?
What disgusts me is that New Labour's architect Blair has over 20 million pounds in wealth, and assetts to boot, all made in a few years, and increasing all the time!
