It's going mad up here. There's a poor little bird hanging on for all its worth to a branch on a bush just outside the window. Everything's swaying so much in the wind it's hard to tell if it's all the trees and bushes or if they are still and the house itself is out on the briny.
The artist brougth the Unknown Warrior exhibition over to us today, from Lavenham, where it spent its Christmas holidays. Good job he didn't try to bring it today - one gust of the wind outside and it'd have been delivered to Dover a lot quicker than anyone expected! Complete with artist.

Having just had my chin blown over the back of my head, I've decided that my best foot had better stay in the house today, dear Raps.
Not sure what I'll do with the other one yet

According to
http:/www.marinetraffic.com some of the ferries are lurking off Kingsdown and none are in port right now, although the Dover lifeboat is back home.

Very windy here in deepest Essex too. Stuck my head out in the garden to feed the birds and nearly took off!

What an awful morning, is Jubilee Way closed with the very strong wind?
My daughter's boyfriend who works for Network Rail has been off for three weeks what a day to return to work.

Ah well, the season of brussels' sprouts followed by wind...who'd have thought it?

Ye Gods!!!
Not waving but drowning, indeed. A moment ago I was afloat on dampish land, I am now submerged in a (tropical?) torrent of rain and can see no further than I can reach.
