In the days of my youth the N-O-W used to be called the Whore's Gazette. Now it is to be no more. After Sunday it will cease to exist. Good riddance.

Good, amazing what can happen when they loose the big advertisers.
I wonder if a new paper will appear in a few weeks or months.

have been trying to to think up something nice to say about the above mentioned organ but have come up short.
incidentally it was called the "news of the screws" where i came from.

Screws of the World we called it. All we need now is the Currant Bun and Times to follow their lead and close their doors as well.

Yes good riddance to it, although I fear we will just see 'the Sunday sun'. Same rubbish different name. We just need rid of them all as you say Marek.
...the daily hate would be next on my list.

To me it was always Nudes of the World - that's about its level.

that was the other one, anyway there won't be many papers left if marek and darren get their way.
we may be left with the eggs press and the grauniad.
not sure what is worse.

try to be reasonable marek, murdoch must have been brought up by cruel parents.
who else would name their son after a cartoon bear, a very nice bear though.

Just heard on the wireless that there is going to be a "Sun on Sunday". Didn't say when though.

i think that news international are completely divorced from reality, a name change indeed.
the public are up in arms in a big way, the idea of hacking into the phones of the parents of the two little girls in soham, milly dowler and grief stricken parents of dead troops is repugnant and will not be easily forgotten.
i think the murdochs still believe deep down that they can carry on pulling the strings of our leaders, they may have a nasty shock.
at least i hope they will.

So I was right (post#2) that did not take long.
Howard

, I just hope the general public see this name change farce for what it is but I doubt it.

#1 Terry - I couldn't agree more. As Zac Goldsmith said earlier this afternoon, after Sunday the world will be a better place. Scumsuckingwhoremongeringhornswogglinglickspittles the lot of them.

The worrying thing is that when the Data Protection Commission investigated the Private Detectives used by the NoTW they actually found that the largest clients of theirs was the Daily Mail/Mail on Sunday, followed by The Sunday People; then the Sun; surprisingly the NoTW was one of the lowest users.
This suggests that the practice is endemic amongst the press and that the independent enquiry should be widened to cover all of the Red Tops

I by no means support tabloid journalists but questions should be raised as to why Rebekah Brooks keeps her job while 200 odd staff who probably have nothing to do with the 'tapping', some of whom did not work there at the time, loose theirs?

They'll probably be taken on by the "Sun on Sunday", Helen.
