Perhaps there is a Local Authority grant?

Like someone in the paper said, I cannot see why the owners of the grocers are complaining about the rate AFTER moving in ? Surely once you decide to open it is a bit late to moan about it ??!!!!!
Been nice knowing you :)
Was just remembering when the shops opposite the Town Hall were buzzing with trade- Sharps, Mr Wrights Boot and Shoe shop, Lukey's, Armours the Butchers, Elms Vale laundry and Andy's (I think) Rock Shop among others. It all looks pretty depressing these days.

Talking about Eastern European shops I noticed one in Canterbury yesterday just by the chapel inside the city walls.
Its been there for ages Barry , I used to get the best smoked bacon from there , tasted just like real bacon should,

If you are prepared to be a bit adventurous, there are many tasty bargains to be had in all the ethnic shops in Dover. The post office in Pencester has opened up a new area at the back on a sort of mezzanine floor with lots of Asian stuff and apparently Caribbean and oriental goods to follow.
But certainly for smoked pork products you can't beat the Baltic Branch shop in the Marjet Square.

Absolutely! Before we were veggies we had a little more choice, but (as the only fish-eater in the house) I can enjoy the herrings etc and other varieties, and used to love shopping in the more Caribbean shops when I lived in London. So much to experiment with!
