Peter Garstin wrote:Still unable to reach desktop site on iPhone. Also facility to post images still missing from mobile site, which is odd as it was there for a while yesterday. Overall verdict: desktop site- excellent. Mobile site- pants.
I needed to make some changes for the images box to work on mobile, which I've done this morning...it should now be back? What else don't you like?

Thanks! Some of those are easier than others, but I'll put them on the list and see what I can do.

Chris, not really sure how to do a screen shot. It works OK on Firefox and Opera. haven't tried Edge yet.

Certainly post numbering. But let us choose to view desktop site on iPhones and all will be forgiven. What's the new size limit for images? Can we post videos?

Works OK on Edge as well, so it's just Chrome that's a problem.

OK, thanks Lewis...I'll see what I can do.
Peter, there's no change in image sizes and youtube videos should still show as before.

Is there/ will there be, a private message facility on this forum Chris?

I think that is the very last thing that is needed Bob, we are short enough on posts as it is. Besides what would be the point on a public forum?

"Peter, there's no change in image sizes and youtube videos should still show as before."
So I still can't upload videos I have taken?
Just noticed the quote function is gone from the mobile site. Thanks for the post numbers.

You can link to videos (and embed them if on youtube) but you've never been able to upload them directly on here, and I'm afraid it's not something I'll be adding due to the amount of resources they use.

I've thought about this a few times before, and still undecided. I can see it may occasionally be useful but as Howard says we want to keep discussion on the forums as much as possible, and it would have to be done with measures in place to prevent spam and abuse.

Ah the quote is there but only in landscape mode. No problem.

Re Private Messaging
There are times on here when I would have liked to contact a member privately, sometimes what you would like to say is private and not for public consumption. I used it occasionally when on DL.
Chris, I have had no problems with Google Chrome so I assume that is yet another mobile problem.

To be able to make private comments that are not relevant to other members is perhaps only occasionally useful but would overall be beneficial in my view.

Thanks for the updates Chris, happy camper here.
Only other thing I can think of is when entering an old thread(no new posts) it links to page 1 could it link to last page.
I guess it would be up to how others would like it to work?
Great work and prompt responses much appreciated by all I'm sure.

No problem - if there are no new posts then clicking the circle next to the title will now take you to the last page, while clicking the title itself will take you to the first page as usual.
If there are new posts, the circle will still take you to the first unread post.

Hi Paul - do you mean you can't upload images onto the website? Or you can't post them on the forum after they've been uploaded?
