Over to you Roger, what you have been told is true it was and still is down to the blue D.D.C. to put the wrong they done right.THe D,D.C does not put the mess there and we all know that, but by allowing all the whole Rd or most of it,to be turned into one and two bedroom flats then fill them with familys and no gardens and then take away their one and only play area, after they were told by Cllrs of the ward at that time what would happen if it all went ahead. But because the cllrs were not from your party,THe D,D,C apart from youself voted to go ahead anyway, and they were not even good flats we could go on and on ,and have done for years now,but we are where we are today with it,so again it must be down to the D.D.C. to take stock of it all,and own up that the Council then and it is the same one today, make up for the wrong done years ago and put it right. Some of the houses must be return to homes with Gardens, please do not say it can not be done, other councils in the UK done the same thing then some years later looked again and said we was wrong on the day,and they have pulled down the flats and build new homes for familys.Even our big citys are doing it today.

trying to be balanced in this debate, both parties have failed
they failed to take into consideration the factors put before them, the majority of cllrs from both parties unwilling to challenge the officer led council.
just because an officr gives a view its down to the cllr to decide if he/she is to take that advice.
sadly most voted it all through

Your Disrict cllr is on yourside, so is one of your Town cllrs, and myself who is still a parish cllr four times over, you also have ex cllrs of the ward still talking and trying to help.so I do not think that much more can be done, but the public and locals that live up there can do lots more,by writing and phoning and keeping on to the D,D,C, about it all, then there is your MP, geting up there looking and the best one to take it on is the press, try to get it headlines,we done it when I was a cllr in that ward and great if you could get the Sun or one of the big papers to write about it,and the TV, that is what I would be doing if I still was a cllr or lived there. As for your other cllrs up there, well you voted them in ,and turned me down so get on to them.

# 37...we have a young women with a baby living in rooms where one is full of maggots.
An appeal to ``any`` DDC cllr to take this case up and sort it out.
It is unacceptable ....to have a repeat of Paul aka`s experience of the lack of action
taken.......we need a can do attitude not a blame game.....

If DDC Cllrs are not interested in sorting this matter out can we ask the Leader or
Chairman assist in giving this young woman a healthy home free of maggots?

To have maggots like that it means there must be something dead and or rotting very near. YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

talking of dead and rotting i had to walk down the folkestone road this morning and the stench from the rubbish was overpowering.
something has to be done before we are overrun with rats, any suggestions as to who should be contacted to end this appalling situation?

Environmental Health on 01304 872428, would seem to be about right. Maggots and rats has to be a health issue.

Rats carry fleas, and rats also can multiply in next to nothing if left uncontrolled.
Rats flourish on garbage, as too do their fleas.

Sheila isn't the only one Keith. Surprised Sue, you advised Sheila instead, but well done Sheila.
If people don't tell me, I won't know and so can't do anything about it.
I had cause to contact the Env. Health a couple of years ago because maggots were coming up through the floor by the entrance to a basement flat in one of the Clarendons.
It turned out that a sewer pipe had broken and rats had died and rotted and so the maggots were coming up through the very thin (much thinner than regulations allow) crumbling concrete.
The Landlord had been advised but chose to ignore it until he was forced to.
If people have any kind of problems that the Council/Councillors can help with in this (Maxton, Elmsvale and Priory Ward) I am always happy to help.
Roger
