If it was in the Dover Express it must be OK, it makes no sense for PW to complain about Keith.
As I said petty politics which serves no purpose at all.

You have far more faith in the Dover Express than they or any newspaper deserves Jan. Knowing the characters concerned I would go with the Paul Watkins statement and, yes, the whole thing is blown up out of proportion and is prolonged only because of political mischief making.

I think you ought to re-read what KS has written before accusing me of inaccuracies or petty politicking.
I am unaware that Wayne Elliott first reported the incident as quoted ? libellous.
I believe the Dover Express first reported the matter & Wayne Elliott responded to inquiries from the press as Conservative Leader of Deal Town Council.
If that is the case it is a vast difference to what is wriiten.
Kathy has already wriiten on this Forum that is was her who broke the story. I have not seen anywhere that reports Wayne Elliott as the source. I don't deny he was quoted but that is not the issue.
I'll stand corrected if what I have written is not what occurred.

still don't see it as libellous paul, inaccurate certainly if correct which thinking back i think that you are correct.
just the case of the order of things.

Howard,
Is not the order of things important?
This statement defames Wayne Elliott if not accurate, which I believe you appear to concede.

sledgehammer and walnut come to mind paul, as you know any defamatory statement on an internet bulletin board comes under slander.
the statement by mr elliott was made but probably after the story broke.

# 18. And a closet is still a closet.
# 4. Usual uninformed inaccurate...................fits well with # 26.
The word Libellous should not be used as a threat to frighten people.
Those that threaten do not do. Those that do. Do not threaten.

It's all a question of priorities.
It's not clear whether the maximum importance given by Keith and Reg to the referred case of Councillor Bob Frost will become a general Labour issue at the next local political campaign, whenever that be (when voters are asked to cast a vote).
It's clear to see that the issue is becoming one of utmost importance to some Labour supporters, and this hopefully will finalise the solution when people in Dover and Deal are next asked to vote.
They will look at all our problems, unemployment that is increasing, inflation, credit crunch, youth unemployment, Dover Port and so much more, and finally realise that all our combined problems are but nought in comparison to the "great and terrible offence" found in Councillor Bob Frost's deleted comment, for which he apologised, and lost his job.
Hopefully we will see the last of the Labour Party, and that should solve half our problems!
Keith, keep up the good work, mate

PAULW;
I think i have answred now your smokescreen libel threat, and have now taken legal advice which confirmed my view that there is nothing libel in comments on this forum, so the attmpt to silence me(not for the first time) has failed again.
of course mr watkins would prefer not to discuss the matter in hand, but more put up a smoke screen to take everyone away from what the thread was about at the start.
ALEXANDER;
I have no idea what will/will not be labours issues at the next election as i have not been a member for 5 years and im sure they would not share that information with me, as for opportunities, a clear cut outcome from the local tories would shut other parties/individuals up, the draagging on of the issue is just giving other political parties opportunities.
GENERAL;
I learnt that in the limelight (as bob was) you have to be careful what you say, and when bob made his many controversial comments he knew that it could offend and prob happy with that or wouldn't have made the comments in the first place, the results of the outcome of his comments are bobs own making no one elses.

Is it possible we could leave Bob frost alone for a while? Not for his sake - it is tedious beyond belief to hear the tale re-told ad nauseum when there is actually nothing left to say.

Correct Bern, tedious indeed. Keith, your imagination is running away with you, there was no threat made by Paul try reading what was said. The whole thing is built up way out of proportion.

i'v read and re read paulw comments and fully understand your joining in on the smokescreen, as thats both your backgrounds which is no problem.
having taken my on legal advice im satisfied as is my legal advisor that there is no libel in my comments
my concern now is a weaker poster may well have been frightened off by such comments and stop posting
that is not something that i want to see, i want (and have)encouraged people from all backgrounds to post, ans whilst i may not agree with them i would never go down any line of attempts to silence them.
we have seen other posters in the past get into this ball game, and it is just not healthy for the forum
anyway, lets hope decisions are made soon and we can move on
