22:0786272bern is right, paul makes it an article of faith to encourage all sides to participate.
this is not just in party politics either, the peoples port issue is a case in point, something that affect us all.
we have had statements from "peoples port chas" and " bobby g" from the harbour board on the front page.
everything they send in is published unedited, there is no bias towards or against anybody.

11:0786329Kathy, I have just been to Riverside to see what time they wanted me to arrive as Santa was told they had a Santa and did not know you had sorted one out I have gone to a lot off trouble with this costume and not best please you ask for Volunteers and when we step up to the plate no one knows anything so please don't ask again .Now going back to Lapland to put my feet up and sulk Merry Christmas Santa.

15:4086357I hope all goes well at Riverside this afternoon and I wish your girls luck John.
Re #39 I quote "I can't help but wonder how long will it be before someone hijacks the Merry Christmas thread", politics have been mentioned. In Victor Meldrew style "I do not believe it".
Sorry all I just could not resist it.

19:3286394Hi Kathy they went down really well,we expected some of the older people to chat but no one did, they were spellbound by the girls singing and Phil was there to take a photo, even Alan or should I say Santa(2) was close to tears.
These girls Jade and Kyra have sung for me at several events,my Primary School reunion,Priory Fields Summer Fete and I even got them a little part singing at the Regatta, they are pure talent, and the amount of people that were crying is unbelievable,no not the sort Vic brings on but the sheer beauty of it,and so many people today came up to me,the Girls parents and the girls to praise them. They just love to sing.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

19:5186397Ahh, brilliant. I saw Alan at 2pm (so he is actually Santa 1 !) but couldn't stay as I have flu and didn't want to give the Riverside chaps the lurgy. Glad it all went well in the end. Photos will be in January 6th edition as it was too late for Dec 30th (changed deadlines cos of the bank holidays).
When do you find out if they go through on BGT? Call me after the holidays
Have a lovely Xmas x

08:0886429Hope the flu doesn't spoil your Christmas Kathy.
Well done to you and every one for publicising this and making more people aware of it and of course all those who worked so hard to make it happen.
On a personal note I would like to say thank you for the article in last week's Express about the work-placement/work-experience I am working on, on behalf of the Channel Chamber and the young people of Dover.
Merry Christmas
Roger
