Indeed (weary voice), well done all those who manage to do their job and promote Dover. What about the rest?

during setting up the family on the left were the only audience.
the "zen bicycle band" were excellent, the flautist especially
gradually people who were passing through decided to sit down or just stand around enjoying the sound.

JHG, you and a couple of others do indeed post on here -the fact is it isn't enough, and people paid by you and I to promote the town and its activities fail to do so effectively. Half the time we wouldn't know things unless you were kind enough to share with DF, so thank you for that. But that isn't really enough, is it?! We shouldn't have to rely on your kindness (which is appreciated) or be grateful when people we are paying to do a job kind of do it almost half well enough.

john
those events will get lost in this thread, you need to start a thread for each individual event then update it as the event gets nearer.

These notices appeared on Friday at my place, the Committee for the Mayor of Dover's Goodwill fund are working hard on various things to raise money for the Towns Good Causes.
I also have problems with how to get information out,on the shows I put on people always say after I didnt know about that.Yet both newspapers cover them, there are notices all over the Town and leaflets put out.
I dont know the answer as you cant force newspapers to print things and I think they generally do a good job,but there are those who do not read the local newspapers and are not members of Dover Forum apart from printing leaflets and putting posters up everywhere what else could be done.
Take the new show I have put it on here as soon as the dates were known, yet 150 views it has slipped off the front page, how many have put it in your diaries Jan 22nd yes I know it is still a long way off,but if you complain you knew about it late, then the chances are this one is too early,so where do we go to get the info to the 35,000 people in Dover.

JHG, don't beat yourself up - you work incredibly hard and get results! But you are not supported well enough by paid professionals who should be assisting people like you who go the extra mile - extra few miles - for Dover. As for you, well done mate!!!
