It's got to happen by 2015 otherwise we shall have the ridiculous spectacle of a Miliband-Clegg duo in the next Parliament. That will condemn us to being a member of the United States of Europe for ever, a situation which would make me consider emigration.

Reg - all politicians have to say what is necessary for diplomatic reasons, that is real life and you should know that, except of course it is convenient for you not to.

Wouldn't it be nice to have politicians that said what they thought and passed on the concerns of those who elected them? Never happen of course, spouting party lines makes for an easier political career and saves them actually having to do anything.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

The requirements of diplomacy on one hand and those of a coalition making it worse. Wars have started before when a 'leader' has spoken his mind though thankfully (hopefully) times have moved on from that. Mind you then there is that Iranian madman....

Reg - you know better than this crap. I bet you any money that you did not always speak your mind in public to the press. That is democratic politics for you.
Typically you always label anything you cannot answer or do want to understand as 'red herring' or 'gobbledygook'.
