I will just leave it to Liam to tell you, simply and clearly - click on the link.
He is spot on - this is the way forward to lance to EU boil...

As I have said before, renegotiate and put that to the public.

Then, surely this too is the way of the Fox. The way of secret meetings with gun-runners and despots, occult groupings, the finances of which are shrouded more darkly than the machinations of Morrrrrdorrrr.
The carving-up of the future by those and for those who see no future in the progeny of (we) lesser mortals.
The same folk that made Europe what it is, because it suited them, are now wishing to rededicate the self-wrought ruins for their own purposes all over again.
Trust a Politician who derides Politics as much as you would trust the prospective baby-sitter who knows the ways of the molester...only too well.

You write a lot there Tom but have not really said anything. Very strange.

i read tom's comments as implying that mr fox is playing to the gallery telling the party grassroots what they want to hear, thus ingratiating himself ready for a push for power in a year or two.
if that is correct then i agree.

[The 'lot' wot I wrote, all four sentences of it, is as far as I can go by way of paean of praise this particular individual and his underhand ways and his vision...and his prospects.]
"renegotiate and put that to the public." What on earth is bubbling through your pipe?
This is surely meant to indicate that the UK's future relationship with the EU is an internal Conservative Party matter. We are not talking Referendum but Manifesto here.
As for Brer Liam, as far as he sees it. The EU is not foreign, but it's not foreign enough. (Although it does appear to be carrying-on in it's old otherworldly way, thinking itself at the centre of ...blah, blah, blah)
And the time is now and the time is not now.
He rails against the view that Conservative thinking is seen as 'little Englander' stuff yet cares not a whit how the EU relates to it's member states, but is only concerned with the Conservatives' relationship with the EU.
Altogether now..."Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope."?
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

that last paragraph brought a tear to my eye tom, who can forget that emotional speech on the steps of no.10 a mere 33 years ago?
she never brought despair.
clinical depression is a different matter altogether.

Extremely interesting:
Barry has been telling us that any prospective Tory MP candidate leading to the next G.E. who is not anti-EU will hardly stand a chance of being allowed to run as candidate, as only those who are anti EU will be chosen.
However: now is not the time for an EU referendum!
Backing two horses at the same time. Oh, and each running in a different direction.
Advocating two completely different and opposite policies.
In other words, says Barry, and Liam, we must remain in the EU. Pro Eu Barry!

Alexander - try thinking about what is said. The reason now is not the time for a referendum is because we need to be out of the EU.

I think barryw you are just catching up on what has been posted on here for some time,
the general public and back bench tory mp's (over 100) are gunning for cameron.
now, mr cameron keeps saying under his leadership we stay in the E.U.
(Well that depends what day of the week it is lol)

Keith - actually you need to catch up. I would suggest that your wishful thinking is what you post is about. Fortunately we have always had a healthy internal debate in the Conservatives.
I have been consistent in my view of how the EU question should be taken forward and this side of the argument is winning through in the debate. A referendum after renegotiated terms.

Unfortunatly i have no interest in your party barryw, only watch them ripping each other apart.
therre was a lady recently whom you gave support to, who announced she gave cameron till xmas to change course or she will mount a leadership challenge.
she also said she will use that time to campaign support for this challenge.
then of course we have the 100 mp's
realy the list is endless

Once again Keith makes a statement and fails to back it up when questioned.

No party will commit to a referendum, they know the electorate would vote to leave. That means no more cushy jobs and pensions when they get slung out of parliament.
