Dover has no desire for the new labour party, remember the last election.
If the conservative whish to keep labour out ,all they need do is stand aside in Dover at the next election

The raised plank walkways, the dusty street, the smell of horses fills the air, the hitching-posts are as vacant as the windows, a gust of wind sets a local wild plant a-tumbling by...the town clock begins to strike high noon...

You are of course forgetting the non voter parentages in the UK Howard
Conservative and labour have one very big thing in common; they have both disappointed and betrayed the people for many years
The older generation especially are disappointed with the new polished bullshiting type of politicks,
The changes Blair and major set in motion, with out democracy will never be swallowed with out resistance, I myself have gone from supporting the labour party to whishing to destroy it, because of its disregard for democracy and the wishes of the people .

Whilst the polls are giving clear indication, it clearly also shows alexanders view that ukip will be a protest party enough to keep the blues out but not enough to win a seat at the general election.
The county elections often come down to a local candidate or someone who works hard
but again ukip could be the protest party that doesn't win any seats but takes tory cllrs out.

Keith, I haven't expressed such a view.
However, as things stand now, both the Tories and UKIP could split the vote that opposes Labour.
Without an agreement on an EU in/out referendum, the Tories stand to lose big-time.
So many jobs just keep going to EU nationals from the East, so unemployment cannot be solved unless we first leave the EU.

Like I said alexander
a protest party
unlikely to win any seats
but do enough to damage the tories

I can not just stand to oneside and not do anything about what the blues are doing at this time. The one that stands out is what they are doing to our Police,Army, Navy, and Air force. So I will be standing again and that is what I will be standing for,What Party? I can not say at this time might not be any of them. I know that I will not get in or near the winning post, but can not just do nothing. The cost of standing is very alot, but I still have two years to save for it, I do not need any rude remarks thank you,I am doing what I think i the right thing to do.3years ago I went for the county seat and the votes I got stoped the blues geting the county seat,it is up again in May this year.

Vic your health your money?
Ukip have good commonsense policy's covering these issues
The older generation like you need to educate the young in what's been robed from them by EU membership, this should be your quest
But if you feel the need then go for it ,its your right

As things stand, we need to invest more in the Police.
As for the Army, it would depend whether we're heading towards a war.
If we can keep out of a war, the cost of military expenditure can be kept at a low key.
We need an Island Army, free of interventionist policies in other people's mess.
