Having done a bit of a Google have come to the following conclusions about the hoardings in Howard's original photos in #1.
The Depser AZ and DEPS hoardings seem to have been done by a graffiti artist who goes around painting this stuff and it means something to him. The AZ is for Astro Zombies who may be some sort of group of graffiti painters. The #atch and #amuk signatures are hashtags which may or may not identify the people painting this stuff or helping to.
This all presumably means something to the closed group of people doing it. In my opinion it is perfectly serviceable signwriting and no different than having an advert for Pepsi or whatever. Some graffiti shows great talent and it would be nice to see some of that on the hoardings but this is just sterile signwriting so nothing to get excited about. It is a perfect accompaniment to the derelict buildings behind and sets them off nicely, adding a signature to Dover's decay.

Over the years I worked with many cllrs including tory and lib dem(when the had cllrs, and both when sue was a lib dem and as a tory)
To highlight some cllrs can work together no matter there political differences

intrigued by post 61, cannot see how someone would have the time and money to do all that. over a year ago there was a young chap working on the hoardings in mill lane. after a while he turned round and saw me looking and carried on, i assumed he had been commissioned by someone in authority to do the work.

Im a supporter I getting the youth involved in there town.
A good example was my support in the underpass by the Archer public house.
A good picture of the town,
sadly it was damaged in time by others.
I'm not a great lover of the graffiti but it can be encouraged into positives

Maybe the Dover Express preferred the 'delightful' view prior to the Town Teams beneficial input.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Seems to me they prefer anything as long as it's knocking Dover and those who are trying to make a difference. Did anyone else notice a few weeks ago they had a lovely photo of the Wellington Dock with the P&O building in the background, and said it was Folkestone harbour with the Hotel Burstin!! That shows that even when they do get a nice photo they have to attribute it to somewhere else and can't bear to admit Dover can be nice.

This is how the initial plans for disguising the hoardings should have looked.
The Crypt site would have been hidden behind a movie set style facade and the exposed face of the Night Club would have been covered. Unfortunately, the funds were not there to complete the project and the next best option was undertaken.
How do I know? Because I drew them up for the Town Team...
