Sewing village bunting for the Jubilee celebrations is well under way, may finish next week.
Here are two keen stitchers (Myriam and Jenny) in Tilmanstone village hall, earlier today.

BIG JUBILEE LUNCH
AT BIG SCREEN IN DOVER
As part of celebrations to mark The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Dover District Council is supporting The Big Jubilee Lunch with a special event at the Big Screen Live Site at Dover Market Square on Sunday 3 June from 11am to 5pm.
Communities are invited to come along to celebrate the occasion with family and friends, bring a picnic with them, and join in with The Big Jubilee Lunch. Dover District Council will be providing tables and chairs at the Market Square, and there will be a range of entertainment, including a life-size Punch and Judy, live music and outside games. The BBC will be showing special Jubilee coverage on the Big Screen.
The Big Lunch is an idea from the Eden Project, funded by the Big Lottery. The aim is to encourage as many people in the UK as possible to have lunch with their neighbours once a year, for a few hours of community, friendship and fun. Since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place in all kinds of communities, and in 2011 the number of participants doubled to the best part of two million. This year, the event will be called The Big Jubilee Lunch and will proudly support The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations on Sunday 3 June.
For more information on The Big Lunch, or to plan your own Big Lunch event, please see
www.thebiglunch.com or for more information on the event in Dover Market Square, see
www.dover.gov.uk

We have now finished sewing the bunting for for village lunch and also the village hall outside, inside and the playing field, and on adding it all up we think it is over 500 yards !!!
Amazing how soon a few of us got it done, all from spare assorted fabrics given, and tape given or made, plus two small containers of red dye !!

Thats a super pic Kath of Myriam and Jenny happily sewing the bunting for the village Jubilee celebrations. I'm sure you may get around to a few photos on the day showing us how it all looks, well at least some of the 500 yards
Howard, Dover Youth Theatre always put on a great show so I'm sure this one will be among their best. Daughter Saskia was a member for years and loved it. A tip for those going, bring a cushion, makes it more comfy on the day
Is the gorgeous Oceanne taking part?

sad to report that the party planned for the "clarendon and westbury hall" has been cancelled due to poor take up of tickets.

howard;
without putting to much damper on things, was sad to see the clarendon and westbury have to cancell its celebrations due to lack of interest.
the committee are realy down over it, but im sure they will pick themselves up from this.
