Tilmanstone is having a big luncheon/picnic/barbecue for all villagers, with band etc.
Our sewing group is madly sewing bunting - at present estimated have done about 150-yards, still more to go !
Here is an historic photo of Tilmanstone people celebrating Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897, in the grounds of Dane Court Mansion, hosted by the Rice family.

certainly not the types you would enjoy an evening down the pub with.
look like they are on jury service when judge jefferies was presiding.

Figured out where it is now Sarah? If you park in the leisure centre car park and face up towards the castle tis on the left behind the old ruined church.
I have been in there many occasions.. ahem.
I, however, shall probably end up working over the jubilee weeekend, if everyone else is off , perfect day for trying on dresses or getting bridesmaids together.
Never mind.

Our sewing group has just completed 200-yards + of bunting for the village Jubilee lunch !! Sewing the rest of them now, for other places in the village over the weekend.
All it has cost is the price of two lots of red dye. Assorted fabric used including old curtains, sheets, even shirts - in assorted colours, sewn onto strong tape which has been given, and some made.
Excellent ! (What shall we do with our time when it is all sewn up ??)
