just had a call telling me that colin's send off will be next wednesday 23rd march at 10.15 a.m. at the crematorium, aerodrome road, hawkinge.
the family have requested that any mourners bring "no flowers" and wear "ordinary dress" rather than the customary black.
any donation to cancer research would seem appropriate.

I like that 'send off', very appropriate for such a lovely man.
Howard or PaulB I am wondering if you could make this a sticky post to keep it at the top so no one misses it?

good idea jeane maybe paulb can do that.
just for info there is ample parking at hawkinge, for those using public transport there are buses every 20 minutes from dover to folkestone, then change at the bus station to the 16a which stops close by.
buses leave at 9.35 and 9.55 a.m. for hawkinge, journey time approx 10 minutes.
it would be nice if a few members could get there but many people will not be able to get there, i am sure they will be thinking of colin at 10.15 am next wednesday.

So sorry I will not be able to go due to a previous commitment, I will certainly make a donation to charity. I am sure Colin would be happy with it going to Age UK, he gave us a great many very nice items that were very gratefully received.

very well thought out jan, colin was always a very practical man, he would appreciate that.
i never found out what he did with a pile of railway magazines that he wanted to donate somewhere.

I do not remember seeing them with the items he gave to us but I did not see everything. A punch bag went within an hour of it going in the shop, we had a laugh about who might be using it and why.
