Thank you Bern that is very kind of you.
Pete died nearly eight years ago and I am not one of those who mopes on things that might have been. I did get a bit of a shock though my son actually remembered, bet it was really his wife, and phoned this evening.

Looking through the windows the new furniture is in place. The wheelie bins outside the front need to be moved or concealed they really detract.

They've been spoken to before about those - I think that was the previous operators. Maybe it was collection day.

The worst wheelie bin eyesore that I know of is outside the Red Lion at Charlton Green, that one seems to live on the pavement all the time.

Thanks, Roger. That gives an explanation I would think some sort of screening would be useful for collection day; a line of rubbish bins outside the entrance of a restaurant is not an enticing sight.

Unfortunately the wheelie bins are outside the front of the restaurant all the time, not just on collection day. Very offputting.

Tradesmen with shops and pubs should give more thought to the image they project, which can easily deter custom.

We stopped here today and I might have upset the manager,I was giving a guided tour of Dover and we stopped here for champaign(I know how to live) and I said how nice it was but the Hythe notice on the wall gets my goat,as he pointed out they have an Edinburgh Wool Shop in Canterbury.
We had light refreshments there and they brought everyone mini fish and chips which were really lovely, the Mayor even managed a fly past.Yes it is expensive but appears to be quality food, but not sure how many people from Dover would visit on a regular visit which of course what it needs.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!
