The good thing about having no money you do not have to look at anything or the worry of losing it.

Sorry for shouting to lazy to retype the above.
But I'm old and I hate smart-phones and and I'm convinced using online banking makes an account more likely to be hacked.

I am also old in fact more likely to be called ancient and do not own a smart phone, I use an old fashioned but very reliable desktop computer but with loads of security in place.
I really miss having a local bank to visit as I hate phones. Should I have even a minor problem, I have a very useful daughter to sort things.

Being bored I found this old post and now housebound I wondered if Dover has any active banks or even one of those proposed multi bank shops.

Santander & Nationwide have a branch each in the town, Barclays have a mobile bank van once a week in St James carpark & the Post Office opposite Boots provides cash services for small business as well as a range of personal account banking services.
I did also extract a promoise from CashAccess to install a deposit ATM in the vicinity of Market Square, but am still waiting for progress on that.

Meanwhile, at Nationwide (We're committed to staying on your high street because we know face to face banking matters

) during a brief Teams call on Wednesday, managers at the building society’s Swindon headquarters informed many employees that they will be out of a job by the end of the year because their roles have been outsourced to a third-party provider in India.
