For info:-
HSBC is redesigning its AI division. The bank recently integrated its generative artificial intelligence capability and data, analytics and CRM capability for its wholesale bank including global banking and commercial banking, renaming it as the Office of Applied Artificial Intelligence (OAAI).
“This consolidation enhances our artificial intelligence capabilities and aligns our resources for growth and opportunity, generating value at scale,” said HSBC in a statement.
Appointed to lead the OAAI is Edward J Achtner (EJ), reporting to Marc Ellis.
HSBC launched its digital service offering in May, aimed at enhancing the way institutional investors connect to the markets globally. Named AI Markets, the service uses natural language processing (NLP) to enhance institutional interaction with the markets including allowing them to generate bespoke analytics and gain access to HSBC’s cross-asset data sets.

I recently attended one of the few HSBC branch's and the lady in the bank walking around in the uniform told me she wasn't a cashier .
So the role is purely a customer service without any experience of HSBC.
Sign of things to come.

Keith, my daughter got me a new key from an open branch and it was the new key that failed, even the lovely lady on the phone could not get it working from her end.

There appears to be some confusion about the dragon slaying though:

I received a new key through the post yesterday lunchtime and thank goodness after nearly two weeks of no account access I found nothing wrong with that one.
Moral of my story and my warning to anyone else internet banking is fine until there is what seems to be a minor problem.

I don't know what we could have done to prevent this outcome. I really don't.

It's a mystery.

Many are excluded from society as there is no branch and the personal contact .
All banks and building societies urge people to do all banking on line
So it's to get worse .

I think the main problem is/was the sort of buildings that house most banks, the prestigious looking buildings are far to big and must cost a fortune to run and maintain, online banking is just an excuse. HSBC always had customers in there whenever I visited.

Your correct Jan
But HSBC had a policy of closure of branches , encouraged by the staff to go online .
Branch staff were also just people directing you on line .
So it was always going to happen.
A lot of people this causes difficulties
But they obviously not bothered on that one .
Iv noticed around other areas mobile vans from branches appearing in car pArks

I wouldn't have minded HSBC closing so much if they had at least kept an ATM outside. Have to wait for my monthly statement now to see if any sneaky withdrawals that I know nothing about have happened. And I'm limited to £250 from other providers cashpoints. Could get £500 from HSBC (before anyone starts, my landlord likes cash

).

i CHECK MY STATEMENT NEARLY EVERYDAY USING ONLINR AND HAVE DONE FOR YEARS, so no need to wait for a month also shows pending in and out.
Sorry for shouting to lazy to retype the above.
