Then stand only where you can fight. This is becoming as confusing as Charlie's port!
Just a small and minor correction to something that Keith mentioned earlier which was that, in the general election, Vic only obtained 660 votes compared with Charlie`s 25,000.
I think you will find that Vic actually polled 1,747 votes and Charlie got just over 22,000.
Ok, still a big difference of course. However, had the BNP decided not to turn up then Vic may well have increased his vote tally by another 1,000 or so.
Water under the bridge of course and no point draging up all the reasons as to why people voted as they did, but just thought I`d put the record straight!

we sent out a search party for you john, good to hear the rumours were untrue.
i think that keith may have mixed up the previous election when vic ran as an independent.
HaHa, yes, thanks Howard.
I`m still here, but on a personal note my life has taken a slightly different path and I am and will be spending a fair amount of time abroad in the future, so don`t really have the time to get quite as involved in things as before.
Still enjoy the forum and the banter of course!

Vic, if you want to stand in seven wards, it is better not to back-track the next day by saying that may-be you won't be standing in any ward, to then say that you will be standing but in not as many areas.
You have already written that you will not stand as a UKIP candidate, to then say that you will and you won't.
As I have let you know in the past, I wish you all the best for your campaign, but people will want to know if you are serious about it, so better keep to a one-line policy and follow it through, without presenting a 360* spectrum of possibilities.
The closer May comes, the more precise and decisive a campaigner should be, and this is what all candidates will be doing. No candidate will avoid taking advantage of whatsoever contradiction in an oponents policies and statements of intent.
