Although i don't always see eye-to-eye with Barry W, I have to admire his loyalty to the Conservative Party. If he was still a councillor you wouldn't see him changing sides and opting for the side that appears greener.
Blimey Barry that's the second time I've complimented you this week, must make an appointment to see my doctor.

the quiet word always works better than the am dram stuff, vic is a gentleman and always apologises when he oversteps the line.

I must say I'm tempted Vic but I regard myself as being too old.
Dover needs some young impetuous blood that can get the town up on its feet again. At the moment there is no movement on the re-generation despite the promises of exciting times ahead, been waiting for those exciting times for over 20 years.
Thanks for the offer of help Vic but you will not change my mind.

Howard you are so right,Vic is a gentleman and has earned my respect the hard way, and after all respect is something you earn it is not something that goes automatically with a title or position however near you are to royalty in the pecking order.
Councillor Nicholas is that the hymn sheet you sang solo from for so many years? I don't need to sing from a hymn sheet as I am not standing for anyone in May, I declined the seat I was so kindly offered and thus I can sing whatever hymn I like.

Ken,
I have to agree with you with regard to the way this has all been hyped up.
Sue is i'm sure doing a good job unde whatever title she may be known.
Barryw knows i'm not into all this PC stuff, and i have no less respect for sue or her position by it.
Clearly vic's postings on STAND IN is luke warm when you look at some of the postings against him.
As for the standards board(who ever wastes there time with them) sue your posting was a sad threat and did little to help things along.
Vic as i';v said has every right to stand in whatever, and as many seats as he likes, that said, the electorate will decide as to how far down the list he gets in votes.
Although i don't share vic's colourful tactics, i do share his right to stand and for the electorate to decide.
well done to ray for coming ot of the closet
well done ken for your posting

wheres the democracy in that involviung local tory members?
maybe someone can confirm this or even more give a view on it

Thats a good point Keith,I can just stand where I wish to, no one can tell me where to,and it will be the same for anyone who comes forward to stand for UKIP,they can stand in any seat they wish to,even have one of mine.

.
thank you all for the support I can take what is handed down to me,but is nice to get some support even if you do not agree with what I am trying to do. I hope you have all seen the post I done this morning,it is all about geting more of the public to stand and vote in their own wards.
It is post 35 if you wish to go back and read it.

Sue is a well respected Cllr and I have always admired her, we are politically different but pleased to say we are friends,we have a good chat at JTB when she comes and sits by me.
We are both Politicians and will fight our corners across the chamber but that doesnt stop us having respect for each other.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Vic, if you go for all the seats you propose, then the electoral campaign will become very expensive indeed. Between putting posters and murales up and signing autographs, answering telephone calls till 12:30 AM, making public speeches from high balconies to the crowds, renting halls to entertain the public at personal expense, the bill will become staggering.
Then you will have to employ a host of followers to post leaflets in tens of thousands of letter boxes.

I admire politicians who can back away from the infighting and become friends with the 'opposition' but I can't understand why the Labour lot don't go out and socialise. Tories, UKIP, indies and Lib Dems all use our bar, why not Labour?

Peter,
Maybe these days Labour are to be found sitting apart in the 'smug'?

Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Peter
I have stated on here many times I probably have more friends in the tory or other parties than the labour party.
I have also posted before today on how well i have worked with sue and other tories on many committee's on DDC

Peter that is not true, the Labour group meet at various functions, for instance one has a birthday party this weekend and I have been invited,it is also my birthday this weekend and I no doubt will be seen in a bar or two as I am off, this never happens as I always seem to be working on my Birthday.
I use several local pubs in the Town, and I know that Bob Markham,(ex Labour) and Lynn Young use your place.I normally go where Howard can't find me!
Added to the fact that I don't drink too much these days, and I have been into Blakes on a number of occasions. But I normally go into pubs where I am not recognised because when I relax the last thing I want to talk about is politics!
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

I agree John .We are on duty enough and the last thing you want to do is talk politics in a pub .I have said before you have to be aware of careless gossip.
