My husband is working in folkestone road and has just rang me to say that council officials are knocking on doors today.
It appears that people aren't happy at being told to remove the rubbish from the pavement. Plenty of shouting going on he said

They obviously don't care, it seems that no amount of advisory/threatening action will change them

overall there is more rubbish out on the folkestone road today but i notice that the boston guest house now has only bins on the pavements so clearly they have been targeted.

With all due respect to the ordinary folk who live at Folkestone Road but whatever has happened to it!
My husband is re-laying steps in a property and says it's like a ghetto up there. People drinking, smoking cannabis, and giving their snakes an airing.Shouting up at windows all day and zooming around in cars playing loud music.
The elegance will never come back, will it?
Are there any proper guest houses there now?

sounds like a fair description from the dover hotel down to the station.
i think it is now just 4 guest houses and a hostel.
the endless shouting at windows and car horn abuse never ends.

From the many emails and photos I have been sending the various departments at DDC, I was advised that they were knocking on doors today and legal proceedings will taken and perhaps fines and prosecutions issued.
We need these people (whoever they are and where ever they come from) to abide by the rules and behave in a decent law-abiding manner, complying with the rules that we all have to follow to keep our neighbourhoods looking decent.
As regards guest houses etc. if my memory serves me right, there's the Restover, St. Albans, the Norman (the Connaught is not a normal guest house as it takes in homeles peope and those on benefits.
Futher up is the Kernow, then the Sandown and next door which was the Linden (our old Guest House) then the other side of Underdown is the West Bank.
I believe there is just one on the even-number side and that's the Blue Bell, next to the old Dover Hotel, but not really sure if that still operates as a guest house.

funny you mention the blue bell roger, it looks delightful but is bang next doot to a refugee camp.
i cannot imagine anyone considering going in there after seeing the neighbours.
the kernow looks very nice but again look at the neighbours, the west bank is just far enough away not to be affected, i thought the sandown was just a private residnce now.
we both forgot the "longfield".

i am more concerned that the miscreants are suitably chastised and willing to play ball in future than getting the rubbish removed.
just removing rubbish will mean that they think they can continue doing it.
the people in the guest house have a wide selection of largish cars that can take the rubbish to the tip anyway.

fines are fine but will the person/s pay the fine,or will have to be taken out of benifits if they are reciveing them.
