Same with me, not knocking Dover and hope it didn't come over that way but just an observation on the competition and the advantages they have.
Now if Dover could start doing some of those cruises that are shown on late night tv

Another nice sunny morning in Dover to greet the return of the Aida Mar. A regular visitor. This is the ship that a few short weeks ago had to abort her attempt at getting into the Port due to adverse weather. No such problem today..its a bit hazy but the seas are flat calm.

Still a bit misty so not good for picture quality..but some traffic in today. Another lovely Costa one..the Costa Romantica, plus The Braemar and another smaller one with glam appeal, looks like its just nipped back from the Monaco GP..The Seabourn Pride.

The Costa ship is actually now called the Costa neoRomantica. She underwent a saubstantial redesign earlier in the year to add new baclony cabins and public areas. She will be a regular caller this summer, having taken on the schedules of the larger Costa Magica which took up the schedule of the Costa Concordia in the Med.

The Costa neoRomantica- the balconies amidships and on the top forward deck were added during her refit.

I'll reserve my opinion on the appearance of the Costa - and my definition of the word "ship".
Seabourn Pride.......... she's in a completely different league - but have you seen their prices?

Some more photos of yesterdays three cruise ships. Other views on the link below courtesy of my old chum Marconista (need to register), including the 1981 built German research vessel FALKTOR which was anchored off Shakespeare beach. The ferry departing is the Spirit of France, note that the Spirit of Britain went back to Rauma some time ago and now has the same funnel exhaust extensions so the two can no longer be distinguished from one another.
