What you describe, Ross, is technically called being a pain in the BTM, according to the officials.......

There could so easily have been a facility in the town if it wasn't for a handful of I-know-better people sticking their oar in and scuppering it......
Been nice knowing you :)

Originally, as we all know, there was never a common concensus on where the hospital should go: Mid-Town (discounted because of the potential for flooding) Whitfield (too far out) and Buckland - initially discounted because of space available and access.
The flooding problems in Mid-Town would have had to have been attended to anyway and I understand are near completion, so if there is such a delay at Buckland (planning application in September 2012 ?), perhaps it could come back to the Town.

Roger please not all that again that will never happen nor will the Whitfield site,it is going where it was always going the Buckland site, sorry you do not know what work and costs go into a site that needs pileing, that would cost more then building the Hospital and add two years to the work. " How do I know that? well it was part of my working life for over 40years, so just forget that.

Vic
You should follow your advice to Roger and kick in to touch your port plans, opposition to new build at Whitfield, opening Kent coal mines, reintroduction of the horse and cart, trolley buses and all the other lost causes you have campaigned for regardless of others telling you how mistaken you were you are and you have been.

Mine are still on the cards,Rogers is not.It is done and dusted,I have been to the meetings had my say into it Etc.
I have to say I find objectionable, as Marek implies, Vics tendency to cut off other peoples views and ideas while bigging up his own, usually with a "sorry" attached. From what I have seen of Vics understanding of public services and business I would be advising him to listen to others sometimes. I admire without hesitation Vics passion and committment, but his ability to ignore what he does not like is not what I value in a public servant.

Bern it is not about if I like to hear it or Not,but the bear facts are,as I said the Hospital post of where it is going is over. What ever is said by anyone and that is me aswell will not be of any use at all. there is no point in listening to what others have to say and their ideas, views call it what you like about the site of the hospital, yes we can still try to get more services in it but that is all.As I said before like many others we have been to all the meetings about it had our say and we have got what we have got.

The point about this whole thread, Vic, is that we haven't got it and they are stringing us aong so that we may never get it. In short we have sweet foxtrot alpha.

we would have had one by now if we had not had all the posturing from people with inflated egos arguing the toss about where it should or should not be.
east kent health authority can always throw that one back in our faces.

Exactly my point aboive Howard- if they can build airports in the middle of the sea, they can build a hospital near a river which very very occasionally breaks it's banks

Been nice knowing you :)

With you on that Howard, too many jumped on the bandwagon. I just kept my mouth shut in total despair at it all.

Information received that nurses and staff hours are being cut at Buckland Hospital.Investigations ongoing but any information would be appreciated.
Kathy can we ask you `YET AGAIN`to assist us? Try Minor injuries first please.
The campaign for a new hospital for Dover has never ceased.Every Bureacratic hic cup cock up has been monitored and exposed including nursing development through all the HOSC meetings and countless PCT/TRUST board meetings. Countless useless PCT public consultation meetings and continual attempts to wake up DDC.
We have been in constant contact with Charlie who now needs to arrange another Town Hall Public meeting to raise public awareness/outrage at the further disgracefull delays.
PaulB Dover Forum could be very effective on this issue.Dover has suffered poor Health Care provision for over 15 years and it is getting progressively worse.
Bureacracy has been the main culprit.Initially DDC Regeneration/planning ignored irrefutable evidence Maison Dieu site was on a Flood Plain.Wasteing 3 years through ignorance/incompetance/unprofessional attitude to the facts provided to them at the outset.Land Swop!! Totally unforgivable.
All the PCT public consultation meetings were a SHAME.adding to the DDC and Dover Pride fiasco. The Health Trust now using the pathetic Landsley Bill as reason for further delays.
The public need to demonstrate against all this Bureacratic incompetance and double dealing.David Hannet organised a superb rally to help the campaign. We will need another to raise the profile of Dovers inadequate Health Care.
32,574 people siged the petition for our Hospital. There is a need.

ON VIC;
I think vics exchanges with alexander makes it clear ion his view on democracy.
Even without that, these ltest posting attempting to silence others, whilst as Marek says it could be argued the whitfield developement has long been decided.
