DDC Planning Committee approved the planning application for the St James scheme this evening. There were no public speakers against the scheme.

Indeed it does Howard. It forms part of the Burlington House/County Hotel leasing agreements. So will be removed when the ownership of those properties are secured for the development scheme.
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy !

i took this today paul, looking on the positive side you might not need to engage the services of a demolition company.
"So will be removed when the ownership of those properties are secured for the development scheme." #4. When is this likely to happen? Is there a timescale?

It is ongoing at present.
Best not to speculate with dates but hope commercial deals can resolve transactions.

many people do not feel happy with this scheme for various reasons but the fact is that it is achievable especially in the foreseable economic future.
the catchment area is not enough to warrant anything more grandiose in my opinion.

That was quick Paul - you must have posted that straight away from your office.
It was a unanimous vote too.
Hopefully when Wetherspoons hear this, they will start to progress their plans for Snoops and make the same progress - time-wise.
Onwards and upwards.

So planning has been passed at long last
We now need to see a start on the work and going by Howard's picture the sooner the better.

Hi all, haven't been on for a while.
I've just been contacted by Radio Kent who are interviewing me on monday morning re the DTIZ plans.
My instinct is to say that DDC have been talking a good game for years and I'll believe in progress when I see it.
Am I being harsh?
