I'm finding this a little had to get my head round,
Cllrs from all parties (some) do work hard for the area they represent and the District.
Its a little sad that the important issue of the DITZ has been allowed to be dragged down to the persnal comments of 2 cllrs who at least post now and again on here.
Without doubt if people gave the same critical comments of the new revamped market im sure David and others would be offended.
I'v always found its best to encourage.
Whilst I understand frustrations when answers are not coming out(maybe for good reason?)
we do need to do all we can to encourage a better Dover, and those trying to reach that aim.
I have given firm opinions on my views of officer led councils, spme councillors, and council decisions.
But on this one subject I do hope we move away from the secrectcy and have an annoucement very soon on the DITZ
although it's not going to change Dover much, it's hopefully a start

I hope this is not going to degenerate into another councillor bashing thread, they were as childish at times as some of the political ones.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

There must be something due to be announced soon, otherwise Paul W would have come on here and said something as he always does when there is nothing yet to say.
I have said before (and I believe it too), that if Paul isn't talking out loud it speaks volumes!
I think David that you do recognise that there is alot of work and good intention going on behind the scenes. Communication is the key to keeping people like you (and me come to that!) from getting loud and lairy when we can hear nothing being said.
Sue, I too do not understand your "joke". I did try. Maybe you should stick to rodding drains in the Abbey?

Isn't Easter supposed to be about death and re-birth (DITZ?) while Christmas is a time for presents and birth. I hope the joke makes sense now.

Ah, then may be there is going to be some demolition over the Easter weekend which would represent death, and then re-building starting 3 days later representing the re-birth.

Howard, poundland already has a flagship store in Pencester. Next to the buses it couldn't be better.
How about a John Lewis with food hall? Just right for Mr & Mrs Johnny Foreigner when they come off the ferry. On the other hand The Estates Gazette the other week says that Frankie & Bennys want an outlet in Dover. Maybe we are getting a muliplex and no one knows?

Just look at how JL are dragging their feed in Ashford with permissions already in place and work still not taking place. The council here cannot MAKE anything happen they can only facilitate it and hope that these companies put their money where their mouth is.....

Paul, you are of course correct, which makes you wonder why they have trumpeted the DTIZ for so long. Of course when you see things happening elsewhere it raises the question of how good we are at facilitating.
Its a question I've posed many times and have done on this thread:
What is the role of a parish/town/district council?
Cllr Nicholas proudly announces she's been clearing drains which makes me wonder what the role of the staff and officers is.
