19:2675955just spotted a banner ad when logging in from the above august institution.
they are running an "ask the public what to spend their money on" starting in 5 days time.
could be interesting though most members of the public do not know what comes under town, district and county.
i can remember a town councillor being elected a while back and pledging to fight to improve street lighting and stamp down on anti social behaviour and crime.

21:5675971Town council can not help with that ,but can tell you this weekend the DTC will be out in the streets in the town and they will hand you there Funding the Future survey for you to fill in it has lots of very important questions for you to tick off and one part is about the Dover Toilets asking you the public about them.So stop them and have your say and fill in the Survey it can be done at home and send in.I have always found the Town council very helpfull with most not all but most cllrs working for Dover and the wards,

22:1475977They do listen to us public, so does Gov. If people with good proposals send a letter to the appropriate authority, or answer questions from the authorities, they take note of it! It's worth taking seriously.

22:2475981Most public bodies listen to the public and then do just what they planned to do anyhow, or am I just being cynical.
I believe this will be the excuse they need for any cost cutting, their answer will be Joe Public did not choose to keep whatever it turns out to be.

22:4175992funnily enough jan, it is a mantra that we all go with.
there is nowhere in our green and pleasant land that says "we have a truly spiffing council", goes with the job.
try telling that to paul the fuhrer up at whitfield he goes ape.
decent chap at the end of the day though, should be a member of his lodge by this time next week.

22:4375993Howard - I think DTC are going the right way about it and are really listening to the public, unlike the PCT etc who never did.
I've got my form to fill in, I will do so tomorrow.
If you have a form from DTC, USE IT!

22:5976003You can pick them up at the DTC office,I am looking at it now and must say it is very good you all need to fill it in. As for the Hospital i have not talked to our MP but have been to meetings which I have had my say about the Dover Hospital and what is about to happen and it is the best Dover will get. so please just wait and see what I have to say and then make your own minds up it is to late to do it tonight and I am out first thing in the morning .

23:0776006I've just looked at the form on the web and it seems you can fill it in even if not a DTC resident, which is good for us country bumpkins as we still have a view on many of the areas asked about and Dover is effectively our town although we live just outside in a parish.
Which makes me wonder whether Whitfield and especially River will eventually be absorbed under DTC, there is little geographical distinction of the boundaries and they are virtually suburbs of Dover.

07:3176019Dover Town Councillors will be outside the Town Council offices from saturday morning at 10am. Thats as I understand it anyway. They want to know what YOU want YOUR money spent on...which seems a pretty good idea. The Town Council are very good at asking for feedback as we saw re the Toilets issue among others.
Yes indeed we have the advert running right now as Howard mentioned, just newly gone up, so please fill in the questionaire and have your say. Click on the banner ad and it takes you directly through to the DTC website.
You dont have to wait for the banner to come around on the adverts at the top of the page..its also in our ADVERTISE WITH US page with more details. Go directly there. Click on the banner takes you directly through to the form on the Councils website.

07:3876021The office will be open Saturday 10 till 4pm with Councillors in attendance so you do have your chance to have a say. Please do as this is a sincere attempt to listen to the Public and certainly no decisions have been made but will be as a result
